Language is extremely important in the development of any nation. A common language helps to build a shared understanding of what a nation believes in. Urdu became
the national language of Pakistan but, due to the diversity of languages and culture across the country, many regional languages have been promoted by the government.

Urdu became the national language after Independence in 1947.The Quaid was keen to promote Urdu as he saw it as an important unifying force in the new country.
However, he also recognized the importance of regional languages and was keen to promote them. One of these was Balochi.
