Wastewater Treatment
Main Source of Wastewater Abatement Measure
Sanitary Wastewater Treatment will be done at Sanitary Sewage Treatment Plant and
Treated water will be reused for the planting.
Acid & Alkali Wastewater from Boiler Acid & Alkali wastewater will be collected into the neutralization
Makeup Water Treatment System and pit, drained into the Central Monitoring Basin (CMB) after
condensate polishing treatment system neutralization to monitor the water quality
Boiler Chemical Cleaning and Air Treatment will be done at Industrial Wastewater Treatment
Preheater Washing waste water System and reused for the plant purposes
Oily Wastewater Treatment will be done in the oil-water separation basin through
the oil-water separator. The treated water will be discharged into
the reuse water basin.
Coal wash water Coal waste water will be collected to coal waste treatment system
and recycled after treatment without discharge.

2. Bottom Ash Handling System
3. Construction of Ash Yard for efficient Ash Management
4. To prevent seepage of ash water through ground, anti seepage composite
geomembrane has been installed in Ash Yard
5. To minimize the dust at Ash Yard, regular sprinkling will be ensured.
6. Green belt will be developed around Ash Yard to arrest the emission of particulate
matter

Coal Dust 1. Arrangement of water spray gun at Coal Yard and fog mist at conveyor belt and
transfer towers
2. Storage of Coal in a covered storage yard as well as enclosure with windbreak net
3. Dust removal system with bag filter has been provided at the coal crusher house,
coal bunker and transfer towers.
4. Development of a Green belt adjacent to the Coal Yard to arrest the emission of
particulate matter
Solid Waste Management
Main Source of Solid Waste Abatement Measure
Domestic Waste 1. Solid domestic waste will be collected in designated bins
2. Collected biodegradable waste will be managed following deep burial method
3. Non biodegradable waste and hazardous waste will be stored in a separate
enclosed place which will be further managed by a licensed 3rd party during
operation stage of the project
