Heaven Elisary - Formal Asb MTG - December

Heaven Elisary reflects on their first semester as Rally Commissioner. They organized a holiday night rally that brought the school together with carols, hot cocoa, decorations, and pictures. As part of the standing committees, they helped decorate teachers' doors with personalized bows reflecting each teacher's interests. Their mentor Sofia has been helpful, guiding, and ensured they stayed on track. Some concerns are that leadership class needs more focus and less distraction. However, the program has improved their responsibilities, teamwork, communication and public speaking. They want to see more unity between classes and uplifting conversations. Heaven feels they have brought positivity and creativity to leadership through rallies and ensuring others feel heard.

Formal ASB Meeting

Formal ASB Meeting December

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Position Assessment:

While the first semester of my Senior year is coming to an end, I am happy to say that I

have made the best out of the first semester. From the last Formal ASB Meeting to this Formal

ASB Meeting, as Rally Commissioners we have conducted the Holiday Night Rally for the

school to come together, sing carols, drink some hot cocoa, light up the holiday trees, and take

pictures with friends. We have promoted holiday cheer along with involving some of our clubs.

Standing Committees:

I was able to help with the decoration for the doors for each teacher. Ximena and Lucia

were a part of my group who helped the day to cut out, tape, and personalize each door for each

teacher. We all worked on making each teacher a customized and personalized bow with their

favorite hobbies, teams, food, ect.

Mentor Evaluation:

While being with Sofia, we haven't spent much time together but when we do, she is

always willing to help me and is super helpful. She is super kind when I ask questions and

always helps guide me in the right direction. We have kept contact and she never fails to remind

me about upcoming events. Sofia always makes sure I am staying steady, turning everything in

on time, and always caught up! Since we found our mentors, Sofia has always been super
outgoing, informative, responsible, and helpful! She takes her role seriously and is always

willing to lend a helping hand.

Concerns:

Some concerns I have for the leadership program is our efficiency. I think the class

altogether needs to focus on the time we have been given to work on important things, talk about

our ideas, discuss our upcoming events, or go over any important information. We tend to mess

around and laugh at the distractions, while disregarding the important information that we need

to uncover. Otherwise, I think we all have been working well together and communicating well

when we may need help!

Positive Comments:

I have many positive comments for this leadership program and team. While my first

semester is coming to an end for the program I have been able to make a lot of new memories

and overall become more driven. This program has taught me responsibilities, loyalty, teamwork,

and the improvement of communication. I have become more responsible and more driven while

being a part of this program. While being Rally Commissioner, it has helped me improve my

public speaking. I feel more confident with speaking in front of larger crowds and keeping them

engaged with what I have to say. Some more positive comments are how creative we are

becoming for the theme days and being able to communicate the pros and cons of each idea

given.

One Change I’d like to see:

One change I'd like to see in this program is to work on unifying. Having each of the

classes work as a whole together and not getting upset with each other would be really nice.

Another change would be to also have more uplifting conversations within our classes and
maybe as a class as a whole. We can't spend all of this time being so negative with each other, we

need to lift eachother up and move along to improve with one another.

My Impact:

The impact I feel that I have given to the leadership program as a whole is positivity and

more creative ideas. When it came to homecoming or even within class discussions, I always

made sure to shine some light on the shady party. During the conducting of the rallies, I also

made sure to keep up with my communication within the group involved in the rallies. Another

way I have made an impact was making sure others feel heard, whether it be asking what things I

should add to the rally or somethings I can improve on, I always want others around me to feel

heard.
