Lesson Plan, For April 24, 2023

This document outlines a science lesson plan for 9th grade students on projectile motion, impulse, momentum, and conservation of linear momentum. The objectives are for students to understand scalar and vector quantities, physics, and kinematics. Students should be able to describe horizontal and vertical motion of a projectile and define key terms by the end of the 60 minute lesson. The lesson will review the terms through examples, define new concepts, and have students practice distinguishing between scalar and vector quantities like speed, time, distance, displacement, and velocity. Resources include textbooks, websites, and examples from daily life.

Learning Area Science 9 Teaching date April 24, 2023
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of projectile
motion, impulse, and momentum. And conservation of linear
momentum.
B. Performance Standard The students should be able to recognize and distinguish
between scalar and vector quantities. Define physics and
kinematics as well.
C. Most Essential Learning The learners should be able to: describe horizontal and
Competency/ Objectives vertical motion of a projectile.
At the end of 60 minutes lesson, the students should be able
to:
a. Define Physic, kinematics, scalar and vector quantity, and
acceleration
b. Differentiate scalar quantity from vector quantity, distance
from displacement, speed from velocity, time, and
acceleration.
c. Perform basic computation involving speed in scalar
quantity.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing new lesson or Show a chart containing jumbled words. Ask the students to
presenting the new lesson arrange it in the right words.
(ELICIT)
B. Establishing a purpose for the Present different objects representing distance, time, speed,
lesson displacement, and velocity.
(ENGAGE)

C. Presenting examples / instances of The teacher will till a daily life scenario involving speed,
the new lesson time, distance, displacement, and velocity.
( ENGAGE) An example scenario is why the student is always late for
class. In speed, the tricycle that they ride going to school is
very slow. Or sometimes, the location of the house of the
students is far from the distance of the school.

D. Discussing new concepts and Define kinematics, physics, scalar, and vector quantities.
