is used for formulating construction adhesives, ceramics pieces, coatings, putties, waterproofing sealers and
interior and paints.
Advantages:

 Forms a film with high resistance to breakage, humidity, aging and UV.
 Minimum to No foam formation
 Medium Viscosity, requires less thickening additives.
 Low absorsion to water
 If used at low PVC levels it offers a satin finish in paints.
 Good resistance to abrasion under humid conditions when used between 28 – 32% binder in the
formulation of exterior paints and type I.

Light Stability: Good
Pigment Binding: Excellent

Usage:

In general, mixture of fillers must be first disperesed. Subsequently, incorporate the rest of the additives and
®
finally at the same agitation speed or at half the speed add AMTEX RE 2. In order to obtain good storage
®
stability of the finished product it is recommended to use dispersants AMTEX PIN 41.

Anti-Foam:
®
AMTEX RE 2 is already formulated to produce low foam, however, if it forms when mixing pigments and fillers
it is recommended to add a general use anti foaming agent (dilute in at least its same wight in water).

Biocide:
It is recommended to add biocide agents to finished products that will be stored for extended periods of time.

Thickener:
®
AMTEX RE 2 may be used in the formulacion of paints and coatings using Cellulosic thickeners (HEC) or a
®
mixture of cellulosic and acrylic thickeners such as AMTEX REC 2.

Compatibility:
®
AMTEX RE 2 is compatible with non-ionic and anionic dispersions. Compatibility with thickeners must be
carefully measured to avoid altering the properties of the final product.

Storage:

The shelf–life of this product is 12 months when kept in its original sealed containers (tightly closed). Protect
the container against sunlight, humidity, air and heat. Protect product from frost and avoid from coming into
contact with Iron, Zinc, Aluminum and alloys.
