1.0 Scope
2.1 Standard Compressive Load Cells with a valid certificate of calibration traceable to
international standard in accordance with an industrial code or a regulation shall be used
as a standard for calibration.
2.2 The Master standard shall be used under controlled environmental conditions e.g. dust
free environment, Lab Temperature 22°C ± 2°C, Humidity 60%RH ± 20%RH..
4.0 Preliminary Operations
3.1 The details of Compressive Load Cells shall be entered in the Calibration Job Form.
3.2 The Load Cells shall be inspected and marked () in relevant block of equipment's
primary inspection section of Calibration Data Sheet.
5.0 Calibration Procedure
4.1 The Load Cells to be calibrated shall be maintained at same place of (standard Load
Cells) for 01 hour minimum for stabilization at ambient temperature.
4.2 Load cell under test will be installed in series with Standard Compressive load cell shall
be exercised on load for 2 to 3 times.
4.3 The Load corresponding to 20%, 40%, 60% and 80% of full range of Load Cells shall be
applied and the reading on the Load Cells Indicators shall be noted accordingly.
4.4 The relevant section of data sheet form: call/013 shall be marked.
4.5 The readings of Load Cells shall be recorded in observed value column against the
standard readings in set value column of data sheet form: call/013.
4.6 Calibration Certificate shall be issued for calibrated Load Cells as per data sheet form:
call/013 record.
4.8 A Calibration Sticker containing having following information shall be affixed on the
calibrated Load Cells.
a) Item code
b) Calibrated on
c) Next calibration date
6.0 Related Documents
All the latest formats are documented in Master List of Document / Record and placed in CQF
file for reference.
All the latest Standard Calibration Procedures (SCP) are controlled and issued to concerned
Calibration Engineers.
