METHOD STATEMENT - Trunking
1.1 Ensure that the materials to be used for installation are of the inspected and approved brands and type.
1.2 Ensure that the installation works procedures are fully comprehended by the supervisor and his workers.
1.3 Ensure that approved type of supports and anchors for trunking and conduit support are used
1.4 Studied the planned cable routing layout from the latest shop drawings.
2.1 From the working drawings, locations of cable tray/cable ladder are marked on site taking reference from the column and /
or beam grid lines.
2.2 Ensure that location of support shall be 100mm (minimum) away from structural pre-stressed cables. (For Hollow Core Slab
Area.)
2.3 Position of pre-stress cables can be determined from drawings provided by builder and confirmed by structural engineer
prior to drilling.
2.4 Correct size of holes are then drilled, and approved type of metal expansion bolts are used to fix threaded rods / brackets /
Channels on ceilings / walls /columns.
2.5 Cable trunking support / bracket shall be cut and install according to the required elevation, which can be checked by
referring to the CSD.
2.6 Cable Trunking are then fixed on the brackets and shall be anchored by using hexagonal bolts and nuts.
2.7 Earth links / strips shall be installed on the side of cable trunking, ensuring continuity throughout the trunking run.
2.8 Whenever cable trunking pass through fire rated walls or floors, the gaps between the wall and trunking shall be sealed with
fire rated compound having the same fire rating.
2.9 Cable trunking shall be labelled using standard labels at every 3-metre interval and at the point of Tee and Bends.
2.10 Boom lift or scissors lift will be used for high-level tray installation.
