Compare and Contrast Essay

Using an alternating or integrated method, write a comparison/contrast essay about the


Hercules text that you read and the Disney movie. You may refer to your notes and the Venn
Diagram that you created. Your introduction should give the title and author of your text as well
as mention the Disney movie before your thesis statement.

You will be scored using:


● Criterion Bii organize opinions and ideas in a sustained, coherent and logical
manner
● Criterion Ciii select relevant details and examples to develop ideas.
You will get a summative score for each criteria.

Rubric:

Choice A: write a letter OR make short video, accompanied by 500-word reflection identifying artistic use of
genre conventions + intertextuality, including critique of intended effect to shape audience’s perspective
Choice B: in medium of choice, create a reader/viewer’s guide to text/video, identifying artistic use of genre
conventions + intertextuality, including critique of intended effect to shape audience’s perspective
