Improving our school Library.

Situation:

The current library has been lost in time. Half of our bookshelves
are crook in the middle and there is dust covering most of the
furniture. The books and materials are old and damaged, some of
them are falling apart, with missing parts and pages, also
disintegrating due to dust and lack of care. The building has a
really poor illumination, and the furniture has scratches, dents
and chips caused by years of use, moving and mishandling. This
library does not provide updated information to students, nor does
it have the adequate material for students to study from.

Proposed solution:

I believe that with a modern library students will be more

thrilled to use it and take advantage of it. This library will
have digital resources, this will provide access to a range of
digital resources, such as e-books, audiobooks, online journals,
and databases. We will also provide students with interactive
displays; this library will feature interactive displays that
allows students to engage with digital content and information in
new ways. High-speed internet: we’ll provide high-speed internet
access for students, with free Wi-Fi and computer workstations.
The library will count also with collaborating spaces, such as
group study rooms, where students can work together and share
ideas. Automated systems, such as self-checkout machines and book
retrieval systems, that allow students to access resources more
efficiently. Finally, we will of course restore the furniture with
new ones and the bookshelves with new modern shelves and update
the books with one’s students can actually use.

Steps involved:

1. Teer down the walls that are not in good conditions and the
ones that will help us to expand the building.
2. Create a new blueprint with the new structure.
3. Build the new rooms needed for the library.
4. Buy the new furniture, books and shelves.
5. Sign with a new internet company to have a high-speed Wi-Fi
connection.
6. Higher a technician to install all the new equipment.
7. Buy all the computers needed.

Benefits:

 Enhancing students learning, A well-stocked and well-

organized library can provide students with access to a
variety of educational resources, including books, digital
materials, and other media. This can help improve students
learning and academic performance.
 Encouraging reading: A well-designed library can create a
friendly-reading environment that encourages students to read
for pleasure, which can help develop their vocabulary,
comprehension, and critical thinking skills.
 Fostering creativity: A library can provide a space for
students to engage in creative activities, such as writing,
drawing, or designing projects, which can enhance their
creativity and innovation.
 Creating a sense of community: A library can serve as a hub
for the school community, bringing together students,
teachers, and parents to share ideas and resources. This can
help create a sense of belonging and promote social cohesion.

Potential obstacles:

 Budget constraints: Funding can be a major obstacle to

library improvements, as schools may have limited resources
to allocate towards purchasing new books, updating
technology, or hiring additional staff.
 Resistance to change: The school administrators, teachers, or
students may resist changes to the library, such as
introducing new technology or redesigning the space. This can
stall the process of improving the library.
 Lack of staff support: Without adequate staff support, it can
be difficult to implement changes and maintain the library's
operations. This includes hiring skilled librarians, support
staff, or volunteers.

Conclusion:
As a way of conclusion, improving the library will bring more
benefits to the students and the school than disadvantages. This
library will help students to study and develop skills further.
