Sentence and Its Parts

The document discusses the parts of a sentence. It states that a sentence has two main parts: (1) the subject, which is the person or thing being discussed, and (2) the predicate, which is the action being taken or description being provided about the subject. Some examples of subjects include nouns, pronouns, and noun phrases. The predicate usually contains a verb and can describe an action taken by the subject or a state of being using a linking verb. Identifying the subject and predicate is important for understanding sentence structure.
