The document is a daily lesson log for a Grade 2 mathematics class. The objectives are to teach students about perimeter by having them add up the sides of different shapes. Activities include a dice game to review shapes, and a "Happy Birthday" activity where students match equations to answers in balloons. The teacher defines perimeter, provides examples of calculating the perimeter of a triangle and square, and has students practice these skills. The goal is for students to understand and apply the concept of perimeter.

LOG

I.OBJECTIVES Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives necessary procedures
must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises, and remedial activities may be done for developing content
knowledge and competencies. These are assessed using Formative Assessment strategies. Valuing objectives support the
learning of content and competencies and enable children to find significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives
shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrates understanding of the concept of perimeter of Triangle , square , and rectangle by adding all the
sides of shape
B. Performance Standard The learner is able to apply the concept of perimeter to mathematical problems and in real life situation

C. Learning Competency/ Learning Competency: Measure the perimeter of shapes (Triangle, square and rectangle) using appropriate tools
D. Objectives
Write the LC code for
each. These are the specifics objective:
Define the meaning of perimeter

The learners are expected to:

Ilustrate the problem by adding all the sides of Triangle, Square and Rectangle
Apply the perimeter in real life situation

II.CONTENT Adding all the sides of given figures.

IV.PROCEDURES These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that students will learn well. Always be
guided by demonstration of learning by the students which you can infer from formative assessment activities. Sustain learning
systematically by providing students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice their learning, question their learning
processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their life experiences and previous knowledge. Indicate
the time allotment for each step.

A. Reviewing previous Preliminary Activities:

lesson or presenting the 1. Prayer
new lesson 2. Greetings
3. Classroom Management
4. Attendance Check
5. Ice Breaker
6. Review
The teacher will review of the previous lesson which is the shapes
The teacher will prepared a game , the game called “the dice game”

Instructions: Dice game

The teacher will put some on the board the different shapes.
The teacher will call the volunteer to start a game by throwing a dice.
The student will throw a dice and when a dice stop and what number can be seen the student need to point out what
shape in the number she/he chose
If the students got it right the teacher will give a hearts and student will put their hearts in the board where they name
placed.

B. Establishing a purpose ACTIVITY:
for the lesson

Instruction: Happy Birthday

 The teacher will prepared some activity related to her topic.

 The activity called “Happy Birthday”
 The birthday cake on the board having equations written on each layer. Beside the cake are balloons and inside the
balloons are the answer to the given equations
 The students will pop a balloons and the answer inside the balloons they have to match the answers to the
equations.
 If the students got it right the teacher will give a hearts and student will put their hearts in the board where they name
placed.

C. Presenting The teacher may use these as suggested follow-up questions after the activity is complete.

ANAYSIS:
the new lesson
1.what is the perimeter?

2. How do we answer the equations again?

3. what do you think is our lesson for today?

3.1 Reveal the topic

3.2 Present the lesson objectives

D. Discussing new ABSTRACTION:

concepts and practicing
new skills # 1 The teacher will introduce the perimeter.

Definition of the perimeter

Perimeter is a math concept that measures the total length around the outside of a shape.

Perimeter is the distance around a two-dimensional shape.

How do we know what is the perimeter of the shape?

Formula of triangle P= A+B+C=

For example;

2
The 3 steps to get the answer:

1. First we need to know how long all the side of the shape

2. Then , we can figure out what is the perimeter of the shape by adding all the sides of shape.

3. Finally , you get the final answer.

The teacher will define use of perimeter and give some example regarding her topic.

For Example: A triangle

Find the perimeter of triangle.

STEP 1: First we need to know how long all the side of the shape

10c 10cm

B 10cm C

STEP 2. Then , we can figure out what is the perimeter of the shape by adding all the sides of shape.

P= 10 + 10 + 10 = 30

STEP 3. Finally , you get the final answer

The perimeter of triangle is 30

E. Discussing new Another example: A square

STEP 2. Then , we can figure out what is the perimeter of the shape by adding all the sides of shape.

P= 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 +

STEP 3. Finally , you get the final answer

P= 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 8

F. Developing mastery APPLICATION:

G. (Leads to Formative The teacher will group her students into 2 groups
Assessment 3)
 The teacher will give some problem which is in real life situation and her student will answer the problem
 The two groups will press the bell first will get 5 hearts
 Each group must get 9 hearts in 3 questions given by the teacher

Word problem:
James has baked a rectangular cake and wants to place a ribbon around the perimeter of the cake. He uses a
ruler to measure each side and he writes down the measurements of 24cm length 14cm width 24cm length 14cm
width. how much ribbon does he need to go all the way around the cake?

Mr. Idris wrapped a present and wanted to put a ribbon around the outside of the box. It has four sides and each
side is 6cm long. How much ribbon does he need?

John swims around a pool with the measurements of 12cm 8cm 12cm and 8cm. what is the perimeter of the
pool?

H. Finding practical
application of concepts
and skills in daily living

I. Making generalizations Teacher will ask her student after the lesson.

remediation
V.REMARKS

VI.REFLECTION Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your students’ progress this week. What works? What
else needs to be done to help the students learn? Identify what help your instructional supervisors can provide for you so when
you meet them, you can ask them relevant questions.

A. No. of learners who

earned 80% in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who
require additional
activities for remediation
who scored below 80%
C. Did the remedial
lessons work? No. of
learners who have
caught up with the
lesson
D. No. of learners who
continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching
strategies worked well?
Why did this work?
F. What difficulties did I
encounter which my
principal or supervisor
can help me solve?

G. What innovation or
localized materials did I
use/discover which I
wish to share with other
teachers?
