The documentary HOME shows the beauty of nature but also how human activities have damaged the environment. It depicts Earth's diversity before humans and how civilizations have led to deforestation, water consumption, and pollution. While some benefits are enjoyed by few, the costs are impacting all. As humans have broken nature's chain, we must work to slow further damage by adopting more sustainable habits individually and collectively. The film calls for awareness of how our behaviors stress the planet and actions to give back to nature, even through small daily changes, for the betterment of future generations.

REVIEW

When I started watching this documentary named HOME by YANN ARTHUS

BARTRAND, I was mesmerized with the stunning cinematography and wonderful
background music of it.But it is not only the picturization and music which holds
your breath but also about beauty in nature, beauty of earth!

Being a music lover, every beautiful frame reminded me some of my fav songs like
“ ye haseen vadiyaaan “, gulzarji’s “ pani pani re” Or marathi song like “ rutu
hirawa” and so on… I can imagine these songs because I have experienced these
words with nature, but can our next generations experience this music in d same
way I do? Or will such kind of word will be written about nature? May be no..
Because they won’t be having similar things left to experience. . . Why? And who
did this? The answer is we the humans have done this.

The first phase of documentary shows us a picture of earth without human, history
of planet and diversity of life on earth and den other part tells us what damage
human have done to nature, massive expansion of human civilization has damaged
nature, deforestation is happening rapidly, we consume so much water, humans are
destroying wetlands.Today cities rely massively on transport of water, food and
goods consuming fossil fuels.Whilw benefits of all these actions are consumed by
few, the cost of consumption have been spread to all.
We as human should understand how our behaviour is giving stress to this planet
and how its going to affect planet’s future?
Many times in film they say nature is linked.. It’s a chain. Now as a human we
have broken this chain, we can’t connect it back completely but atleast what we
can do is hold it together so that it doesn’t fall down further and vanishes.
At the end it film also gives u a hope that we can work on this together! It gives u
examples how diff regions are working on it.
But I felt that last part of documentary was too fast moving, doesn’t give enough
information about actual solutions on problems.
Being the fact that Yaan Arthus Bertrand is a famous photographer, he know how
to capture every small detail, and hence the film its very impressive from the
appearance point of view but not focusing on problems in detail.

But yes... It was a wake up call for all of us.

Since we have already done much damage to nature now it’s our time to give it
back, and take active steps towards it.
We can do it together but we need to start by doing our own part. Even adapting to
small changes in life can contribute to it like less use of plastic, less use of water,
sustainability at work places, carpooling with coworkers etc.
So Self-awareness is the starting point towards becoming more mindful and yes
our actions may inspire our friends, family to become more responsible towards
nature.

I think like all other skills we develop for our betterment, we should understand
that being Environmentally aware is a new essential skill we all should adapt for
better future.
