covers an area of 262.5 Km². The park was designated as a UNESCO biosphere reserve in June 2015.
This ecological region has over 300 animal species and 440 plant species. Endangered species such as
Cuiver’s gazelle, Dorcas gazelle and Barbary sheep inhabit the park. The park has rare plants such as the Atlas
cedar which is native to Algeria.
Belezma national park is also home to several historical and cultural sites including tombs and caves.
