CLASS: DAD1A
TOPIC: ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
Environmental issues are the consequences of human activity on the biophysical environment, the majority
of which are harmful and cause environmental degradation. Pollution, overpopulation, waste disposal,
climate change, global warming, the greenhouse effect, and other environmental issues have burdened
humans. Various environmental protection programmes are being implemented on an individual,
organisational, and government level in order to achieve a balance between man and the environment. The
majority of the pollution causing these negative effects is caused by human activity. Pollutants are released
into the environment by the exhaust from our cars, fossil fuels and oil, factories, and even our food system.
Environmental issues arose during the industrial period (during the 1700s and 1800s), when there was a
significant increase in in lead amounts in the atmosphere due to the pollution of factories and various
industrial processes.. Brazil, the United States, China, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, India, Russia, Australia,
and Peru have the greatest environmental impact. Environmental problems are occurring as a result of the
combustion of fossil fuels, vehicle exhaust emissions, overuse of plastics, forest clearance and burning,
industrialization, and so on. It is critical to focus on environmental issues because you help yourself and
others live better lives. It is our responsibility to look after this wonderful planet. The environment benefits
people not only in the current generation, but also in future generations. This planet is our legacy to future
generations. Our Mother Earth is currently dealing with so many environmental issues. Global warming,
acid rain, air pollution, waste disposal, ozone layer depletion, water pollution, climate change, and other
environmental issues affect every human, animal, and nation on the planet.
{1}First of all, there are many factors that cause environmental issues. {2} The first factor in environmental
issues is air pollution. {3} Studies have shown that air pollution effects on human’s health are significantly
high. Air pollution can also cause long-term damage to people's nerves, brain, kidneys, liver, and other
organs. Some scientists suspect air pollutants cause birth defects. Vehicle pollutants harm our health and
contain greenhouse gases that cause climate {4} According to world health organization, air pollution
effects on humans life are so high. For example, air pollution causes 29% of all global deaths from lung
disease.
{1} Other than that,{2} another factor in environmental issues is climate change. {3}Humans and wild
animals face new challenges for survival because of climate change. Rising temperatures due to climate
change are increasing the risk of flooding. Flooding has the potential to spread disease and damage
ecosystems and infrastructure. Climate change causes landslides that destroy homes and communities.
The other impacts of climate change are rising sea levels and increases in the earth's average surface
temperature. [4]For example, according to www.noa.gov climate change has caused the global sea level to
rise between 6 and 8 inches (15-20 cm) over the last 100 years. About one third of the increase is due to
the thermal expansion of ocean water, and two thirds is due to meltwater from ice flowing back to the
ocean.
{1} Moreover,{2} one of the factors contributing to environmental issues is ocean acidification. {3} This is
happening due to the direct effect of excessive CO2 production by vehicles and humans. The oceans
absorb as much as 25% of all human carbon dioxide emissions. Over the last 250 years, the surface acidity
of the ocean has increased by an estimated 30%. Acidity is expected to increase by 150% by the year
2100. The effect of over-acidification of the oceans on sea creatures such as shellfish and plankton is
similar to osteoporosis in humans. The higher acidification of the ocean causes acid rain. Acid rain also
damages forests.. {4} For example, if the pH in oceans is becoming lower, it means the water is becoming
more acidic, which causes major problems for marine organisms and ecosystems.

Negative Effects Of Environmental Issues
(1)The first negative effects to environment issues happen is (2) global warming. (3) Beside on
climate.nasa.gov global warming is the long-term heating of Earth's surface due to human activities, fossil
fuel burning, which increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth's atmosphere. For example (4)
many things will happen such as flood, sea level rises and melting of polar ice.
(1)Other than that in addition, other negative effects is (2) extinction of wildlife. (3) On britannica.com
extinction occurs when species are diminished because of environmental forces such as habitat
fragmentation, climate change, natural disaster, overexploitation by humans, and pollution or because of
evolutionary changes in their members (genetic inbreeding, poor reproduction, decline in population
numbers). (4) The example tiger, lion and the Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros almost extinct.
(1)The last one negative effects of environment is (2) resource depletion. (3) Beside on buschsystems.com
resource Depletion occurs when the renewable and non-renewable natural resources become scarce
because they are consumed faster than they can recover. The term resource depletion is commonly
associated with water usage, fossil fuel consumption, trees and fishing. For (4) example of resource
depletion include deforestation, soil degradation, and overfishing. Deforestation is when we cut down trees
faster than they can grow back.

SOLUTION
The [1] first solution to environmental issue is [2] using electric and hybrid vehicles. [3] Unlike traditional
motor vehicles, electric vehicles do not run on diesel or gasoline. Therefore, they do not emit air pollutants.
For example, [4] Tesla branded cars no longer produce Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, and Sulphur
Dioxide that can lead to air pollution. This is because those cars powered by electricity while gas car
powered internal combustion engine.
The [1] second solution to environmental issue is [2] using solar power. [3] By using solar power, we can
reduce water use from energy production. For example, [4] when we used solar energy, then the
government no longer needs to destroy our ecosystems and animal habitats to build dams to generate
energy.
[1] Beside that, [2] the government also needs to play a role by promoting public transport. [3] By using
public vehicles, we can reduce the use of vehicles on the road. For example, [4] the government can
reduce the rate of charge for using public vehicles. The government can also improve public transport
facilities to make users more comfortable

VALUES
The[1] first value of cooperation is [2]to be collective responsibility [3]. Dumping pollutants in other
places is like we are poisoning the people who live in the place where we dump the pollutants. For
example, [4] Everyone must be responsible for the pollution and environmental degradation it causes.
[1] Second value of [2] gratitude is appreciative the environment. [3] we must be aware of the need to
preserve the environment to maintain the balance of the ecosystem so that environmental pollution
does not occur. For example[4] make a complaint to the environment department if there is a party that
pollutes the environment
[1] Lastly , the value of cleanliness of body and mind is [2]environmental cleanliness[3] The community
needs to take care of the environment to keep it clean. For example, [4] carry out cooperative activities
in the surrounding area.

CONCLUSION
Unfortunately, people forget that we are a part of nature. We must live in harmony with and take care of
the nature. We must reconsider how we use natural resources. The natural world is on the verge of
collapsing, and people must be aware of this. People must understand that they are not the primary users
of the environment and build environmentally friendly homes. We must think about future generations and
what will be left after we are gone. People should develop solutions to environmental problems. We recycle
trash, develop electric vehicles, reduce pollution in the air, water, and soil, and restore land erosion by
planting new trees. However, this is insufficient; people's lifestyles must be completely transformed until
nature heals itself completely. Every individual is responsible for saving our planet from these
environmental issues. If preventive measures are not taken, our children and grandchildren will face major
problems. The government is also working to raise public awareness. Every individual should contribute to
the reduction and control of pollution. The Department of Environment (DOE) is a Malaysian government
agency in charge of promoting, conserving, and sustaining environmental management in order to keep the
environment clean, healthy, and safe for the people's well-being.
