REBZ TMDI LESSON PLA-WPS Office

The lesson plan aims to teach students to identify different types of electrical circuits. It includes explaining closed circuits, where current flows from the power source to the load; open circuits, where the connection is broken; and short circuits, where a direct connection is made between the live and neutral wires. The lesson will have students practice identifying circuit types by guessing pictures within groups. The goal is for students to understand circuit design and performance.

TMDI LESSON PLAN AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICITY

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:

 Identify the different types of electrical circuits.

Skill: Identify and Explain

II. Content

Different types of electrical circuits

III. Learning Resources

A. References

 K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum Technology and Livelihood Education Learning

Module Industrial Arts - Automotive Electricity

B. Other Learning Resources

 Visual Aids

 Pictures

IV. Procedures

A. Prayer

The teacher will call somebody from the class to lead the prayer.

B. Greetings

The teacher will greet the students and ask how they are doing.

C. Checking the attendance

The secretary of the class will be the one to check the attendance.

D. Classroom Conditioning

The teacher will remind the students of their classroom rules while the class is ongoing.

E. Review of the Last Lesson

The teacher will ask of what was the previous topic.

F. Motivation

The game called Guess a classmate. The class will be divided into two groups. Students
will be divided into two groups. Every group has one representative and two members of the
other group because the representative will guess who slapped the back of his head from the
two members of the other group. The first representative who guesses who slapped the back of
his head will identify one picture, and if his answer is correct, then their group will be given
points.

G. Presentation of the Lesson

Note to the teacher: The teacher will explain briefly.

What is an Electric Circuit?

When the power source is connected to the load with a conducting wire, it forms an electric
circuit. A conductive wire made up of copper or aluminum is used to establish an electrical
connection between the power source and the load.

We also use an ON / OFF switch and a fuse between the source and load to switch on/off the
load and for the protection of the equipment connected to the source.

Types of Electric Circuit

Close Circuit

In a close circuit-

Load is connected to the source.

The source supplies current to the load.

The current flowing in the circuit depends on the voltage magnitude of the source.
close circuit

Open Circuit

The circuit becomes an open circuit in the following cases.

When circuit is switched off

When the fuse gets blown off due to the fault in the circuit

In this condition, the current flowing through the close circuit interrupts, and the supply source
and the load disconnect.

Short Circuit

In the case of short circuit ;

The connecting wires between the source and the load gets short circuit.
Maximum current flow through the circuit

It blew off the fuses

Finally circuit becomes open circuit.

The main reason for the short circuit is insulation failure of the connecting wires or the
insulation failure in the electrical equipment.

Series Circuit

When 2 or more electrical equipment is connected in the series connection, it forms a series
circuit. In the series circuit, the magnitude of the current flowing in the equipment is the same.
The series circuit has a single path for current flow.

series circuit

We call series connection an end-to-end connection or cascade connection. The disadvantage

of the series circuit is the whole circuit becomes an open circuit if one piece of equipment
becomes defective.

H. Generalization

It is important to identify the different types of electrical circuit in order to be able to

design, synthesize and evaluate the performance of electric circuits or networks.

I. Application

Directions: The teacher will divided the class into two groups. All groups will guess
the picture if it is Closed circuit, Open circuit, Short circuit, Parallel circuit or Series circuit. The
first group who guess first will given points. The task must be completed in 10 minutes.
V. Evaluation

Direction: In a 1/4 sheet of paper, the students will identify to the following pictures:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

VI. Assignment

Research in advance the sources of mechanical energy.
