Yes, definitely!...
I feel the same way…
I agree with you…
That’s a very valid point…
I think what you said is true…
You’re right…!
There may be situations when you disagree with someone on certain topics. That is
when you have to politely express your disagreement while avoiding an argument or
fight. You must make the listener realize that while you heard and understood what they said,
you do not agree and have a different opinion.
Example:
I feel __________ (say your I feel extremely
feeling)
when __________ (describe happy when my
the action)
because ____________ (say
mother cooks
why the action connect to your adobo because it is
feeling)
my favorite food.
Task 2. Read the text below and answer the questions that follow. Write them on a
separate sheet of paper to express your reaction about the text.
The Filipino is eminently suited to his romantic role. He is slender and wiry. He is
nimble and graceful in his movements, his voice is soft, and he has the gift of language.
In what other place in the world can you find people who can carry on a fluent
conversation in at least three languages?
This gift is another means by which a Filipino has managed to survive. There is no
insurmountable barrier between him and any of the people who have come to live him –
Spanish, American and Japanese. The foreigners do not have learn his language. He
easily manages to master theirs.
Verily, the Filipino is like a bamboo tree. In its, grace, in its ability to adjust itself to the
peculiar and inexplicable whims of fate, the bamboo tree is his expressive and symbolic
national tree, it will have to be, not the molave or the narra, but the bamboo.
1. What are the assertions about Filipinos in the text?
2. Do you agree with the writer’s description of the Filipinos? Why or why not?
3. Will you consider yourself like the bamboo? The molave? or the narra? Why or why
not?
Task 3. Choose three statements below that interest you most. Express your
reactions about them. Write your answer on a separate sheet of paper.
[Intro: Child]
Think about the generations and say that we want to make it a better place for our children, and our
children's children, so that they know it's a better world for them
And think, if they can make it a better place...
(Verse 1)
There’s a place in your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could be much brighter than tomorrow
And if you really try
You'll find there's no need to cry
In this place, you will feel there's no hurt or sorrow
[Pre-Chorus 1]
There are ways to get there
If you care enough for the living
Make a little space
[Chorus]
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me
[Verse 2]
If you want to know why
There's a love that cannot lie
Love is strong, it only cares for joyful giving
If we try, we shall see
In this bliss, we cannot feel
Fear or dread, we stop existing and start living
[Pre-Chorus 2]
Then it feels that always
Love's enough for us growing
So make a better world
To make a better world
Repeat Chorus
[Bridge]
And the dream we were conceived in will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in will shine again in grace
Then why do we keep strangling life?
Would this Earth crucify its soul?
Though it's plain to see
This world is heavenly
Be God's glow
