The speaker’s goal was to show to the audience that despite all,
real happiness does not lie in money or success, or fame. It lies in
gratitude. Today I saw her as a motivational speaker, who wants
to believe in humanity, in kindness. Her primary message was
delivered excellently, supported with relevant examples, and
arguments. In my opinion, Muniba is the exact right person to
deliver this kind of speech, because people around her
inspiration by her position in life, from her attitude to the
incidents, and events that happened in her life. She aimed to
inspire the audience and I think she achieved it. Muniba Mazari
Baloch Motivational and inspirational videos are successful
because they make people feel a certain way. And emotion almost
always inspires action. This video encouraged us to support a
cause and even change our perceptions. Motivation reflects
something unique about each one of us and allows us to gain
valued outcomes like improved performance, enhanced well-
being, personal growth, or a sense of purpose. Muniba Mazari

feeling, and behaving.
(ii) What are the criteria that you use to choose the video? (4 marks)
Muniba Mazari shares her personal side and incident of her life story
with the audience and opens up about her family, relationship, and
failures that she faced. It is the story of her dreams and aspirations that
made other people realize that if you think that your life is hard and you
are giving up on that and thinking again. Because when you think that
way you are being unfair to yourself. “Failures is not an option, failures
should be an option, because when you fail you get up and then you
fail and get up but that keeps going, that is how human are strong. She
also makes people realize that sometimes problems are not too big, we
are too small because we cannot handle them. Other than that, Muniba
Mazari makes everyone believe that they are not alone, there is always
a person behind them to support them and faced their problems.
Lastly, she also motivated the person with disabilities to not think that
they are disabled or weak to face the problem. This is their strength for
all disabled people.
(vii) Identify the types of accents that he/she used in the speech.
Explain. (2 marks)
In this video, Ms. Mazari's pronunciations and idioms are not always
those of ordinary 'Anglo' English, but she is entirely fluent and
intelligible. Since she was born in Pakistan, I would think chances are
that her native language is Urdu, but her English is certainly fluent and
at a near-native level. The speech is fluent, which is a strong indicator,
but the accent is a south Asian accent, with the rhoticity which is
common in some parts of America.
(viii) Identify the speaker’s body posture. Does he/she use appropriate
body posture? Explain. (6 marks)
Yes, Muniba Mazari uses appropriate body posture even though she is
a disabled person and uses a wheelchair to move. She is sitting up
straight and looking into the audience’s eye. We also can see that her
shoulders are back and she is not slumping or leaning to one side. As
you can see when she gave her speech, she moved from one place to
another place to make everyone interested. But she is not tired and
makes sure that she is not hunched back. Lastly, she keeps her feet
flat and rests them on the floor.
