The following amendments are hereby made as part of the Contract Documents. The following revisions and/or additions shall be made to contract documents and
the cost shall be included in the Tender Price.

1.0 SPECIFICATION

1.1 Refer to revised Specification section 00 00 01 Mechanical Bid Form (included


herein)

.1 Add new item 2.3, 3.3 and 4.3 for the bidder to fill regarding to the project
schedule increase if the owner decided to include the separate pricing item.

2.0 CLARIFICATION

2.1.1 Question: As per Front End Doc, Scope of Work 1.24 : we are to use only the 4
vendors listed for complete work. We has all the certifications, signatory and licenses
required to complete this work. Please let me know if we can be included in that list.

Response: The scope of work related to fuel oil system and generator flue venting shall
be conducted by pre-approved fuel oil vendors as per Specification section 000100
Scope of Work item 1.24. All bidders shall provide the base bid price by carrying one of
the pre-approved fuel oil vendor.
The contractors who would like to use their own force (no other sub-trades allowed) to
conduct the fuel oil system upgrade can be considered as an alternate pricing item
which can be included in the Specification section 00 00 01.00 Mechanical Bid Form
item 6.1. In addition to the alternate pricing, the contractors who intended to use their
own force on fuel oil system upgrade shall provide following information for further
technical evaluation:
Three (3) similar previous project experience (such as similar construction complexity,
project with multiple phases, high rise building fuel oil system upgrade project, etc.) in
the past 5 years for technical evaluation. For each project, please submit:
1. Project name, address, start/completion date and total dollar value;
2. Brief project description with equipment sizes (generator size, fuel tank size, etc.);
3. OBT-1 technician report (with company logo) at project sign-off.

4. Project owner contact information (name, title, email, phone number). It is
understood that, in supplying references, the Bidder allows S&A to contact the
named persons without any additional authorization or permission.
5. The OBT-1 technician who certified the reference projects shall be committed to this
project. The assigned OBT-1 technician must be an employee of the bidder.
6. Any other supporting documentations to demonstrate the capability and capacity of
the bidder’s team to provide quality service for the fuel oil system upgrade.

The Bidder acknowledges that acceptance of the alternate pricing shall be at the
discretion of the owner and engineer.

2.1.2 Question: Please verify tender validity period as documents reference both 60 days
and 90 days.

Response: 60 days.

2.1.3 Question: Please confirm subcontractors listed in RFQ, specifically 1.24 - work related
to fuel oil system and piping - are all union trades

Response: The Fuel oil sub-contractors are pre-approved by the owner as specialized
contractors who are exempt from this requirement.

2.1.4 Question: Please provide security escort costs and areas where we will be required to
use.

Response: The cost for security guard coverage is $35.00 dollars which includes admin
fees and HST. There is a minimum of 4 hours when booking. Security escort is required
when conducting work within staircase or inside tenant spaces.

2.1.5 Question: Can we get a equipment schedule for the Muffler/Silencer ? Not enough
information to price this accordingly.

Response: Refer to Specification section 001000 Scope of Work item 1.58 for the base
of design for new muffler.

2.1.6 Question: Is there any exhaust duct extension required for the temporary generator as
the generator location is very close to the openings ?

Response: The bidder shall carefully evaluate the site condition and determine the
requirement for temporary generator final location and flue vent orientation.

2.1.7 Question: Can you please confirm that all trades are required to be union ?

Response: The requirement for Carpenters Union is listed at the PROCORE platform
bid form as well as specification section 00 00 00 Instruction to bidders item 11.6.

2.1.8 Question: Is the roof under warranty ?

Response: No.

2.1.9 Question: Is there a 13th Floor in this building?.

Response: Yes.

2.1.10 Question: what is the purposed schedule(time period) that we will need to rent the
Diesel Generator and temporary cables for ?

Response: The duration for temporary generator rental shall be determined by the
bidder based on their work sequences and project schedule. The design intention is to
run temporary rental generator when the building generator is off-line during the
construction (such as flue venting modification, fuel oil piping tie-in, etc.) The bidder
shall also allow the usage of temporary fuel oil tank in the generator room during fuel oil
system upgrade to minimize the time duration required for temporary rental generator.

2.1.11 Question: Who is to carry the $5K fuel Cash allowance.

Response: The bidder shall carry the cash allowance in their bid price.

2.1.12 Question: All the works in the fuel storage tank room can be done during regular hours.
Can you please confirm this ?

Response: The contractor is allowed to complete work within mechanical and electrical
spaces (such as fuel tank room, pump room, electrical room, generator room, roof area,
etc.) during regular hours. The work to be completed in regular hours shall not
interruption building normal operation and not noise generating.
For the storage tank room, as long as a temporary tank is provided to the generator at
penthouse in the generator room so the existing generator is operational. The bidder is
allowed to disconnect main tanks, transfer pumps and work in the storage tank room
during regular hours.
Refer to specification section 00 00 00 Instruction to bidders item 6.3 for more details.
