Error messages

Various functions are continuously checked during operation.

In the event of faults, the software switches to a safe status in which the output to the end stage and therefore the
control of the carriage motor are switched off. This status can only be exited again by performing a RESET
(switching mains OFF / ON). No further keyboard inputs can then be made. If an error occurs, it is indicated by
flashing cut thickness LED's. The various errors together with their possible causes are described in the
following table.

position

The right LED on the CPU starts flashing, as soon as the program of the DSP runs at a frequency of 1 Hz (½ sec
on,½ sec off).
If the CPU identifies an error, it is indicated on the display as described above. In addition, the right LED flashes
in the event of a fault at a frequency of 2 Hz (¼ sec on, ¼ sec off).

Technician's menu

To access the technician’s menu open the hood of the machine. Then press keys “Thin slices” and “Thick slices”
simultaneously for 3 seconds. Then press key "Medium slices“ within 1 second.
The LEDs “Thin slices” and “Thick slices” flash to show the technician’s menu.

Levels of the technician menu:

Level 1 of technician menu:

By pressing key “Thin slices" level 1 of the technician’s menu can be accessed. The LED “Thin
slices” illuminates.
The required test (1-7) is selected by pressing the “Slice thickness“ keys. The test set is indicated
by the “Slice thickness” LEDs. To run the test, press the key „Divide”. To indicate that the test can
be run, the LED „Divide“ flashes. To run the test, press the key „Divide”. The „Divide“ LED stops
flashing.
The technician’s menu level can only be exited with Reset (mains ON/OFF).

Tests 1-3 in the Technician's menu level 1 can only be performed with open hood!

LEDs Test Process

1 Sensor basic position The "Slice" LED indicates whether the end position sensor has
switched.
2 Product feed sensor The "Slice" LED indicates whether the product end position sensor
has switched.
3 Carriage motor The blade carriage must be located in the basic position before calling
Encoder up the Technician's menu!
The blade carriage is pulled manually by the operator. After approx.
2/3 of the distance the "Slice" LED illuminates, to indicate that the
shaft encoder has supplied approx. 29000 pulses. If the blade carriage
is pushed back again slightly, the "Slice" LED goes out.
4 Blade motor The blade must be turned counterclockwise by approx. ¼ turn. The
Encoder LED „Slice“illuminates. If the blade is turned back, the "Slice" LED
goes out again.
5 Release The hood must be closed before the test is started. Lock is closed after
Safety switch test is started. If there is a control voltage on the final stages, the LED
Control voltage “Slice” illuminates’.
Final stages, check Possible causes if there is no voltage: No crumb drawer inserted,
coupling hood not closed, hood switch defective, lock switch defective, CPU
defective.
Coupling check: The step motor product feed runs on max. holding
current when the LED illuminates. The coupling can be checked when
front plate is removed.
6 Lock sensor The "Slice" LED indicates whether the end position sensor has
switched.
7 Auxiliary relay K1 The "Slice" LED indicates whether relay K1 has switched. Relay K1
must have switched when the hood was opened and must drop out
when the hood is closed.

Tests 1-3 in the Technician's menu level 2 can only be performed with closed hood!

LEDs Test Process

1 Product feed sensor Push the clamping device to the right stop before confirming Test 1.
Close hood and confirm Test 1 with the "Divide" key. The product
feed moves until it reaches the sensor for end of product feed, then it
changes direction and returns approx. half the distance.
2 Blade motor The blade motor runs permanently. Quit test by switching off mains
voltage.
(In order to define the direction of rotation of the blade, for example,
the blade can be moved into the cleaning position before branching to
the technician's menu.)
3 Lock The lock searches for the reference position (lock open). The hood is
then locked and unlocked again immediately afterwards.

Level 3 of technician menu:

By pressing key “Thick slices" level 3 of the technician’s menu can be accessed. The LED “Thick
slices” illuminates.
The required test (1-2) is selected by pressing the “Slice thickness“ keys. The test set is indicated
by the “Slice thickness” LEDs. To run the test, press the key „Divide”. To indicate that the test can
be run, the LED „Divide“illuminates. To run the test, press the key „Divide”. The „Divide“ LED
goes out.
The technician’s menu level can only be exited with Reset (Mains ON/OFF).
