We had to discuss 3 critical questions within an online meeting. We described some of these questions about
Artificial Intelligence in a document. Lastly, we presented it in an online meeting with our teacher. We did this
with Prezi.
Criteria
The criterion for the online meeting is that we use Teams or another tool and that it lasts 10 minutes. Our
document has to be 5 pages long. Our presentation had to be an alternative to PowerPoint.

Why?
We all know till now what AI is but what we don’t know is these things. ChatGPT for example became popular
in such a short time and everyone knows how it works. Some of us, including us, were wondering about how
powerful it is, if it will/ can take over the world and what can’t be replaced by it.
- An artificial intelligence program created by a group of clinical researchers and software engineers
uses images to predict who will develop lung cancer with 94 percent accuracy, according to a study
titled "End-to-end lung cancer screening with three-dimensional deep learning on low-dose chest
computed tomography" published in Nature Medicine on May 20, 2019. (Technologies, 2021)
- According to a study titled "Neural population control via deep image synthesis" that was published
in Science on May 2, 2019, when monkeys are shown a series of computer-generated images and
their brain cell activities are simultaneously recorded, it enables deep machine learning systems to
generate new images that increase the excitation of cells. (Technologies, 2021)
AI is nowadays used in automation and industries are being helped by day-to-day business activities. Artificial
intelligence is a technology that makes it possible to build smart, intelligent machines that can complete tasks
on their own. AI-based devices are trained to use data analysis to learn about and explore their surroundings.
Numerous applications of AI that make it simple for us to carry out daily tasks are seen in the real world.
(Intellipaat & Intellipaat, 2023b) Many applications of AI have changed our life:
- Google MMaps
- Self-driving cars
- Automated marketing
- E-commerce recommendation systems
- Automated fraud detection

There are some positive sides to AI. It is making its way to a smarter world. AI is helping to create advanced
tools for automation that can save humans’ time for productive tasks. (Intellipaat & Intellipaat, 2023b)
First there is error-free processing. When tasks are carried out by humans, mistakes are more likely to occur.
While performing a given task, we frequently make mistakes. This could be as a result of an individual's varied
intellectual capacity. Artificial intelligence has demonstrated that it is more effective than humans at
performing a given task when we compare AI-based devices to people. Artificial Intelligence is used in many
sectors to assist minimize wasteful mistakes and losses. AI helps also in repetitive jobs. When tasks are carried

demonstrated that it is more effective than humans at performing a given task when we compare AI-based
devices to people. Artificial intelligence is used in many sectors to assist minimize wasteful mistakes and
losses. Third, it is the right decision-making tool. A human would evaluate a scenario by considering numerous
elements. These elements may have an emotional or practical impact on the choice. Lastly, the AI-based
machines don't have any feelings, which helps keep efficiency from being hampered. Artificial intelligence-
powered machines are also capable of rational decision-making. (Intellipaat & Intellipaat, 2023b)
Next to that there are some negative points. First, high costs of creation. Artificial intelligence-enabled
machine creation is quite expensive. The cost for a large-scale project might be in the millions of dollars. As a
result, implementing AI is not an option for small businesses. Due to the features, functionality, or scope with
which an AI project is built, the cost of development may be significant for businesses with high revenues as
well. The hardware and software that businesses utilize has an impact on how much development costs.
Furthermore, technology and software need to be updated frequently to keep up with the demands of a
world that is constantly evolving. Second, increased unemployment. In addition to creating jobs, artificial
intelligence may also result in some job losses. One of the main drawbacks of artificial intelligence is this. It
will replace low-skilled occupations while also creating positions for people with technology skills. A variety of
industries, including manufacturing, have begun using AI-enabled equipment to produce goods. Industries
would choose to invest in artificial intelligence rather than hire people because AI-based equipment can work
around-the-clock. Lastly, lacking improvement. In addition to creating jobs, artificial intelligence may also

What is the future of AI? Will the machine become so powerful that it begins to think to a point where it is
more capable than humans? Notice, capable, not powerful. No doubt computers are more powerful at giving
us answers faster than human brainpower, but are they more capable?
Here are just several questions what people are worrying about. Some say that AI will not take over the world
and movies like I, Robot are science fiction, with an emphasis on word fiction. While others suspect the most
cynical this being the same as portrayed in the Terminator franchise. Here are some examples why AI is
regarded “safe” and useful in our daily lives. (DigitalGenius, 2023) The idea of artificial intelligence (AI) taking
over the world is mainly predicated on the idea that machines would eventually outsmart people. Even while
artificial intelligence has advanced significantly in recent years, machines still lack human-level creativity,
emotional intelligence, and problem-solving abilities. Without these qualities, which are necessary for
decision-making, machines will never be fully capable. Besides that, there does not exist a motivation nor
desire to make all these chaotic predictions. Adding to the previous that machines lack the capacity for self-
awareness and emotions because they are not sentient beings. In other words, neither the ambition to rule
the world nor any other motivation exists in machines. Furthermore, the creation of AI is subject to stringent
ethical and regulatory regulations, as is its application. AI is made to improve human existence, not to take its
place. Despite worries about AI misuse, these are addressed by strict restrictions and control. Also, it is
important to keep in mind that artificial intelligence (AI) is not a single thing but rather a big area of study that
covers various technologies and applications. It is doubtful that a single AI application or system will grow to
be so potent as to rule the entire world. (Pesen, 2023)
There are some animosities towards the growing usage and development of AI. Movies like I, Robot and
Terminator have shown us a great deal of what could happen in the now (not so far) future. Here are some
examples of what “could” eventually happen in a gloomier point of view:
First off there is a possibility that machines will one day outsmart humans and take over the world using AI is
what gives rise to the dread of an AI takeover. This would imply that judgments could be made by robots
without human input, which could have disastrous results. This is a serious worry as we continue to create
more sophisticated devices that rely on AI to make decisions on behalf of their users, such as self-driving cars
and smart homes. Some academics express concern that AI might create its own agenda that is at odds with
human morals and ideals. This could result in a scenario where machines decide to put their own objectives
ahead of those of humans, possibly causing a worldwide catastrophe. Addressing the possible threats posed
by technology is becoming more and more crucial as AI development progresses. To ensure that computers
are created with human values and ethics in mind, experts in the area are pushing for greater transparency
and responsibility in the development of AI. All this may seem like a far-off concern, but in reality, we are
already seeing the impacts of intelligent machines in our everyday lives. While we continuously develop
advanced technologies, it remains crucial that we consider the potential risks associated with AI and be willing
to mitigate some of them. (Pesen, 2023) One potential worry is that machines could become so sophisticated
that they could hack into crucial systems like financial and electricity networks and seize control of
fundamental facets of human society. This could result in widespread turmoil and destruction by giving
machines enormous control over human society.

The development of autonomous robots that could function as an army, overcoming people and assuming
control of the entire planet, is another worry. These hypothetical situations are not merely the stuff of science
fiction writers' fantasies; they actually pose risks that will need to be managed in 100 years. (Pesen, 2023)
Listed below are some threats that AI currently poses to the EU, governments, businesses, and consumers:
Safety and security risks: AI programs that come into direct contact with people or are incorporated
into the human body could be dangerous because they could be ill-designed, mishandled, or
compromised. A lack of human control over potentially lethal weaponry could result from poorly
controlled AI deployment in weapons.
Transparency challenges: Information access disparities could be abused. For instance, an online
merchant can use AI to anticipate someone is likely to pay based on that person's online behavior or
other data without that person's knowledge, or a political campaign might modify their messaging.
Liability: Who is responsible for damage caused by AI? An important challenge is to determine who is
responsible for damage caused by an AI-operated device or service: in an accident involving a self-
driving car. Should the damage be covered by the owner, the car manufacturer, or the programmer?
Underuse and overuse of AI: Since machine learning in AI depends on data, underuse may result from
fragmented digital markets, bad infrastructure, a lack of initiative, low investments, or skepticism on
the part of the public and business community.
Overuse can also be problematic: investing in AI applications that prove not to be useful or applying
AI to tasks for which it is not suited, for example using it to explain complex societal issues

Let’s start with human skills that cannot be replaced by AI. Even though AI is great at gathering and analyzing
information in an efficient way, it still lacks emotional intelligence, human sensitivity, and creativity. These are
skills that make us human and differentiate us from AI. (Rangoli, 2023)This includes interpersonal skills,
communication skills, negotiation skills, ethics and morality, empathy, …
Interpersonal skills are the skills that help us create relationships with other human beings. Empathy is part of
these interpersonal skills as well as active listening and conflict resolution.
All these skills mentioned above, and more are important for humans to carry out many different professions
which AI won’t be able to replace. (Rangoli, 2023) Next, there will be an overview of the professions that can’t
be replaced by artificial intelligence and why. The main reason is that there still are more than enough jobs
that can’t be automated thus they can’t be replaced by AI. The first example is lawyers. Contracts could be
automated but there is more to it than just writing contracts. The negotiation skills used to come to an
understanding before drafting the contract is something only humans can do because AI lacks the ability to
bargain with others. (Sharma, 2023) Other professions that can’t be replaced are directors, managers, and
CEO’s. So, professions where you have a leadership role. It takes leadership to manage teams inside an
organization, yet leadership is not a set of behaviors that can be codified and applied in a linear manner.
Employees won’t act the same if their employer is a robot instead of a real human being. A CEO is also in
charge of communicating the company's values and mission to the team. Investors are very unlikely to ever
feel at ease making investments in a company run by robots or algorithms. (Thorp, 2023) The same counts for
creative professions like musicians, painters, and writers for example. Artificial intelligence can’t create the
same originality and creativity these people can. They connect with their audience in a way AI will never be
able to. People like to go to concerts of their favorite musicians and that won’t be possible if the musicians is
a computer program. Even though there already are AI systems that create music or paintings, humans don’t
want to miss out on the connection they make with artists.
In the end, it’s a hard question to answer. According to an article written by De Cremer and Kasparov (2021)
in the Harvard Business Review, AI should augment human intelligence and not replace it. It is a useful tool for
automated and greater productivity of repetitive factory labor and it’s good for replacing those tasks that are
dangerous for humans. But we shouldn’t let it replace all our work, we should use it in a way that makes
professions easier to execute and helps humans to become a greater version of themselves.

Conclusion
Artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly transformed various industries and continues to do so. It has the
potential to solve complex problems and make our lives easier in many ways. AI is a powerful technology that
has the potential to transform our world in many positive ways. However, it is important to use it responsibly
and ethically, while being aware of its potential risks and limitations. By doing so, we can harness the power
of AI to create a better future for all. There are still concerns about the potential negative impacts of AI, such
as job displacement, biases, and misuse. It is important for humans to be responsible and ethical in their
development and use of AI, and to ensure that its benefits are shared equitably. With proper oversight and
regulation, we can harness the power of AI to improve our lives and address some of the world's most
pressing challenges, while avoiding the unrealistic fear of AI taking over the world. (ChatGPT, 2023)
