PART 2 – SPEAK ON A TOPIC FOR 2 MINUTES

1. Talk about a time you surprised another person.

I will tell you about a time when I surprised my cousin on his birthday.
His name is Kevin. Two years ago in December, when we gathered at grandma's
house in Toraja. Me and another cousin wanted to surprise her to make her
birthday even more memorable. On his birthday, we hid his smartphone
because there were some important documents. He then panicked and worried
for fear of losing his smart phone. Me and another cousin pretended to help
him find his smart phone. After some time, my cousin and I gave directions to
check in the backyard. Unbeknownst to him, several families were already
waiting in the backyard and preparing a birthday cake complete with candles to
be blown out. Kevin then checked into the backyard according to our
directions, and to his surprise when he got to the backyard singing happy
birthday. And what a surprise again when I gave a gift that contained a hidden
smartphone. He was very surprised, happy and moved by the surprise we gave
him. We then ate food together in the backyard.
2. Talk about a person who made a positive change in the world.
I will explain about the discovery of the first lamp. His name is Thomas
Alva Edison. Edison is known as an inventor who made a major contribution to
the history of human civilization, namely inventing the incandescent lamp. He
was born on February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio, United States. Long before
inventing the incandescent lamp, Edison was already known as a child who was
curious about many things even though he couldn't speak yet. At the age of 4,
Edison still could not speak, so he was considered to have a disability. But when
Edison grew up, he could talk and always asked what he encountered. Edison
started school when he was seven years old. Edison was so curious that he was
disliked and scolded by his teachers for asking so many questions. Thomas Alva
Edison is a world scientist who played a role in the development of the
incandescent lamp, where his invention of the incandescent lamp has so far
been felt by many people. The benefit of Thomas Alva Edison's invention is that
we have light at night because he invented the incandescent light bulb. What
we can learn from Edison is his persistence in doing experiments up to 1,000
times. He also succeeded in inventing the phonograph, alkaline battery, carbon
microphone etc
