Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Science 3, 4, & 5

I. Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson, 80% of the pupils will be able to:
a. Identify the body parts of animals
b. Appreciate the importance of the function of the body parts of animals
c. Create an artwork of their desired animals
II. Content
a. Topic: The Body Parts of Animals and their Function
b. Reference: K to 12 Curriculum Guide in Science
c. Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Picture, activity sheet
d. Values Integration: Animals Appreciation
III. Procedure
a. Daily Routine: Greetings, Checking Attendance, Pray
b. Review: The teacher will show different kinds of animals, and let the students
recognize and name them.
c. Motivation: The teacher will flash four different kinds of animals and ask the
students to name the animal’s body parts.
d. Presentation: There are different picture of animals on the table in front.
Grade 3: The students will get their favorite animal’s picture, then color and label
the body parts.
Grade 4: The students will get their favorite animal’s picture, then color and label
the body parts. Explain the function of each body parts.
Grade 5: The students will get their favorite animal’s picture, then color and label
the body parts. Explain the function and state its importance.

1. The body parts of different animals
2. The functions of different animals
3. The importance of an animal’s body parts in their living
f. Generalization:
 What are the external parts of an animal’s body?
 What is the importance of the animal’s body parts and their functions in
their daily lives?
 As humans, how do we protect and preserve our different kinds of
animals?
g. Application:
Grade 3: Draw your favorite animal and label its body parts, then state their
functions.
Grade 4: Group the students into three. Create a yell about the chosen animal’s
body part, its function, and its importance. Perform it in front of the class.
Grade 5: Poem recitation. Group the students into two.
Group 1: Create a short poem about the body parts and functions of your chosen
animals.
Group 2: Create a short poem about the importance of the body parts of your
chosen animals.

V. Assignment
Based on the different animals that have already been discussed arrange and classify them,
whether they were vertebrates or invertebrates.
