BACKGROUND:
Section (12) Paragraph (4) of the Republic Act 10121 otherwise known as the Philippine Disaster
Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010 states that, one of the functions of Local Disaster Risk Reduction
and Management Officer is to organize and conduct training, orientation, and knowledge management activities on
disaster risk reduction and management at the local level;

The municipality of Lingig is situated in the eastern seaboard of the Philippines. Thus, it is highly prone in
Tsunami, Storm Surge and flooding. It is the initiative of the MDRRMC to train and capacitate the youth in Water
Search and Rescue Training and organize a water search and rescue team to help the community in times of
emergency on waters.

OBJECTIVE:

This activity has specific objective/s:

 To Capacitate the Youth in DRR related training as mandated in RA 10121.


 To organize the Youth and orient them in DRRM system.
