Questionnaire
and Survey
Our team conducted a 12 question long
survey in a sample space of more than
27 participants. The main aim of this
activity was to understand the take of
various sections of the society on
mental health. Our responses came
from a plethora of people, from various
age groups and occupations, all living
their own separate lives.

Our questions were focused to see if

mental health is still considered a
stigma in our society, and what are the
masses doing in their personal lives to
resolve their own issues with this topic.
From our survey, we learned that
only 70.4% respondents claimed that
the stay-at-home lifestyle caused by
the pandemic improved their familial
relations. While this number signifies
a majority, it still leaves behind a big
number of 29.6%. Many psychologists
and research papers agree on the
fact that negative familial relations
can impact an individual’s mental
health.
When asked the question on the
number of hours the respondents
sleep at night, more than 25% said
that they slept less than 6 hours a
day. All these respondents were
Students. Most people don’t realise
that sleep and mental health are
closely related.Sleep deprivation
affects your psychological state and
mental health.
More than 63% of the respondents feel
that they battle anxiety and discomfort
on not being able to ideally socialize
with others. A mental health disorder
characterised by feelings or worry,
anxiety or fear that are strong enough
to interfere with one’s daily activities.
Such tendencies have become
increasing common due to the new stay
at home norm.
Similarly, we gathered that only 70.4% of the
respondents often make an effort to engage
in recreational activities that help them
cope up with their fast paced lives.
With an encouraging yet still big figure, only
40.7% respondents felt that they are dealing
with stress on a daily basis, with others
choosing between the options of ‘maybe’
and ‘no’. The reasons for these high levels of
stress can be seen as a result of both
academic and work related stress mainly.
The survey yet again proved that while
awareness about mental health has
increased over the years, it still is
considered a stigma in the society when
81.5% answered ‘yes’ to this question. This
was also seen when 37% responded that
they have never talked to anyone about
their mental health.
