Base Plate Design

The document summarizes the design of a base plate (BP1) for a truss with the following key details: 1. The critical load combination is 36 kN with axial and bending forces of 61.34 kN and 0.006 kN-m respectively. 2. The required base plate thickness is calculated to be 3.19 mm but a minimum of 5.44 mm is required, so an 8 mm thick plate is selected. 3. Four 12 mm diameter anchor bolts are selected to support the 61.34 kN axial load safely in single shear.
