 1. Abstract

Training and Placement Cell is an important part of any educational institute, in which most
of the work till now is being done manually. The training and placement officer must inform
around thousands of students about every single training and placement related activity. So,
to make the placement process easy and effective for the training and placement department
as well as the students, an Android application can be developed. This application will
contain a profile for students where students must complete that profile by adding details such
as contact details as well as placement details, here student can also upload placement related
documents that includes marksheet and resume. This profile is editable so student can edit
his/her profile whenever he/she wants. This application can help the placement officers to
provide the details of upcoming companies. The students will be alerted via a notice. Notice
will be created by admin and displayed to each student through this application. Once the
recruitment process is completed, admin can categorise students as placed students and
unplaced students. It would be easy for the students to keep themselves updated about the
campus drive through this android application. Admin is able to perform analysis by using the
details provided by each student. This application will help placement officer to collect
student details in one click instead of colleting it manually. This application will reduce
workload of admin and provide user friendly interface. This project will be helpful in faster
management of the placement related activities in the college campus.
 2. Motivation

This project is an android application that can be accessed by the student throughout the
organization with the proper login provided. The training and placement officer can also use
this application to maintain all the records of the students as well as the activities related to
the training and placement cell. The students need to register themselves for the placement
through this application. Once the registration gets successful, a unique user ID and password
will be created for an individual student. If the students need to make changes in their
personal and academic profile, they can send a request to the placement officer. The students
may also receive the notifications regarding the upcoming campus drive. It also provides
information about the campus details, criteria for the campus, recruitment process. A link will
be provided by the administrator of the upcoming campus where the students can obtain extra
information about the company. Placement officer will also be provided a unique id and
password by the administrator. This application helps the placement officer to update the
correct details of the requested students. The administrator only has the rights to access the
database. Once the campus recruitment gets completed the final list of the placed students in a
particular company will be uploaded by the administrator. Students will also be updated about
the campus drive. Students can maintain their own information and update. Notifications will
be sent to the students about the upcoming campus drive and, they can access the information
about the previous placement. Some of the features of this application includes the following:
Work can be done in a computerized way, no need of paperwork, to increase the accuracy and
efficiency of the placement process management of student data, Analysis of the overall
placement process and the work burden will be less for the training and placement
department.
3. Literature Review

• Sanker R. Brahmankar, Rahul S. Ghule, Shubham K. Chavan, Landge D. Ashish.

Pavan D. Borse [1] describe the solution for problem which occurred in existing
manual system. The major problem in existing manual system is searching and
updating of efficient. the student data. The proposed system provides automation in all
the processes like registration, update, and searching of the student data. Also, if
students are eligible for company, then the student can directly apply for the company
by only clicking on apply hurton. The admin is the master user. Admin has a greater
number of priorities than the other users. This paper describes the two steps, the first
one is to maintain the list of students and their records and other is to maintaining the
company details and based on the company requirements. make the list of students
branch wise, which is more complex task.

• K. G. Patel, C. K. Patil [2] discuss that online. placement system has a very important
role in college and to simplify this process by automation is the ultimate goal. The
system does all the work regarding collection, modification, updation of student data
as well as the companies. With proper authentication of the student, they can apply to
specific companies, based on their academic performance. TPO, the admin on the
other hand, provides the details of the visiting companies. All the registered students
are eligible to participate. The main aim of this system is to reduce manual work and
automate process as much as possible.

• chunnu khawas and Pritam Shah [3] elaborate on how exactly Firebase works with
android app. This paper discusses about Frirebase that it is a relatively new
technology for handling large amount of unstructured data. It is very fast as compared
to RDMS. This paper focues on the application of Firebase with Android and aims at
familiarizing its concepts, related terminologies, advantages and limitations. The
paper also tries to demonstrate some of the features of Firebase by developing an
Android app. This paper concludes by saying that using firebase along with android
app makes it faster and efficient.
 4. Aim of Project:

In this system user have a choice to login into the system as student or as admin that is
placement officer. When student log into the system he/she can add the details and complete
the profile. This profile will contain all the details of student like contact details, academic
details as well as placement details of that particular student. In this profile student can
upload the documents which are related to the placement purpose such as marksheet and
resume. All data which is provided by each student through profile will be store in the
database. Profile is editable so student can update profile whenever he/she wants. It is
important for student to complete the profile. After successfully completion of profile student
will be able to see notices which are provided by placement officer. When user log into the
system as admin (placement officer), admin is able to see profile of all the students with all
the details. Admin is able to categorise the students as placed students and unplaced students.
Admin is able to create or display notice related to the upcoming campus drive. This notice
created by admin will be displayed to every student through this application. That Notice will
contain campus drive details like which company is offering placement for upcoming drive so
that students can take a look to that notice and prepare themselves for upcoming drives. This
application will provide user friendly and unique user interface to students as well as admin.
By using this application students will be able to update themselves about campus drive and
admin (placement officer) will be able to minimize the workload and able to retrieve the
student database for any analysis. That's why 'Placement Application' is developed.
 5. Objectives

With the help of Placement Application, the students can easily communicate with the
placement officer. The training and placement cell plays a key role in improving the overall
performance of the student.

• Study and manage the details of the placement, student details, overall academic
details of the students, and their technical skills.

• Implementation of modules related to placement.

• To develop a user-friendly application for reducing manual work.

• To provide a unique and simple user interface application.

 8. System Design

Basic Modules

• Login: In this module we design to develop login and signup screen. We have two
types of users for login, training and placement officer and student. The registration
page contains student academic and personal details. Once the student enters the
details, it will be stored in the database.
• Database Creation: The Administrator only has the rights to access the database
module. The administrator will upload the information regarding the campus drive.
• Information view by the students: In this module student can view the information
uploaded by the administrator regarding the campus drive and details of the company.
• List of Placed Student: Once the campus recruitment gets completed the final list of
placed will be uploaded by the administrator, which can be viewed by the students
and the placement officer.
9. Conclusion

The system keeps the records safe which is stored in the database. It generates reports that
provide description details including distinct number of students placed in the company.
The analysis of placed students recruited by the company will be made available in this
application. Though this project provides a better way for the training and placement
department, some more additional features can be added for the betterment of the
application in future.

10.Future Scope

The list of students should be automatically filtered based on the criteria of campus drive.
The student as well as Training and placement officer should be able to communicate by
sending message via this application. Test link should be uploaded so that the students
may be able to test their technical skills.
