General Instructions:
1. This Question Paper has 5 Sections A-E.
2. Section A has 11 MCQs carrying 1 mark each.
3. Section B has 3 questions carrying 02 marks each.
4. Section C has 3 questions carrying 03 marks each.
5. Section D has 2 questions carrying 05 marks each.
6. Section E has 1 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with sub-parts
of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
7. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 1 Question of 2 marks,
1Question of 3 marks and 1 Question of 5 marks has been provided. An internal choice
has been provided in the 2 marks question of Section E
8. Draw neat figures wherever required. Take π =22/7 wherever required if not stated.

In PQR, right-angled at Q, PR + QR = 25 cm and PQ = 5 cm. Determine the values of
sin P, cos P and tan P.

SECTION C

Section C consists of 3 questions of 3 marks each.

15 Find the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial x2 –3 x +2 and verify the relationship between 3
the zeroes and the coefficients.

16 Prove that √5 is an irrational number. 3


17 Find a relation between x and y such that the point (x, y) is equidistant from A (7, 1) and B (3, 3
5).

OR
Find the values of y for which the distance between the points P (2, – 3) and Q (10, y) is 10
units.
SECTION D

Section D consists of 2 questions of 5 marks each.

18 Check graphically whether the pair of equations 5


x + 3y = 6 and 2x – 3y = 12 is consistent. If so, solve them graphically.

OR
The ratio of incomes of two persons is 9: 7 and the ratio of their expenditures is 4: 3. If each of
them manages to save Rs 2000 per month, find their monthly incomes.

19 Find the area of a rhombus if its vertices are (3, 0), (4, 5), (– 1, 4) and (– 2, – 1) taken in order. 5

SECTION E

Section E consists of Case study-based question of 4 marks.

The satellite image of the Himalayas Mountain is shown below. In this image there are many
signal towers that are standing.

The angle of elevation of the top of a hill from the foot of a tower is 60° and the angle of
elevation of the top of the tower with a height of 50 m from the foot of the hill is 30° as shown
in the image given above. Using the concept trigonometry answer the questions given below.

(i) Calculate the horizontal distance between the hill and the tower. 1

(ii) Find the distance from the foot of the tower to the top of the hill. 1

(iii) What is the height of the hill?

OR 2
If ∠ CBA= 45°, what will be the distance between the foot of the hill and the foot of the
tower?
