General Instructions:
1. This Question Paper has 5 Sections A-E.
2. Section A has 11 MCQs carrying 1 mark each.
3. Section B has 3 questions carrying 02 marks each.
4. Section C has 3 questions carrying 03 marks each.
5. Section D has 2 questions carrying 05 marks each.
6. Section E has 1 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with sub-parts
of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
7. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 1 Question of 2 marks,
1Question of 3 marks and 1 Question of 5 marks has been provided. An internal choice
has been provided in the 2 marks question of Section E
8. Draw neat figures wherever required. Take π =22/7 wherever required if not stated.
SECTION A
1 The LCM of smallest two-digit composite number and smallest composite number is 1
(a) 12 (b) 4 (c) 20 (d) 44
3 If one zero of the quadratic polynomial p(x) = 𝑥² + 3m𝑥 + m is 3, then the value of m is: 1
8 If 𝛼 and 𝛽are zeroes and the polynomial f(x) = x2- x - 4, then the value of 1/𝛼 +1/𝛽 − 𝛼𝛽 is 1
10 The ratio in which a point P (5,1) divides the line segment joining the points P (6,1) and Q (6,7) 1
is:
11 Assertion: If the pair of lines are coincident, then we say that pair of lines is consistent and it 1
has a unique solution.
Reason: If the pair of lines are parallel, then the pair has no solution and is called inconsistent
pair of equations.
(a) Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation for Assertion.
(b)Both Assertion and Reason are correct but Reason is not the correct explanation for
Assertion.
(c) Assertion is correct but Reason is incorrect.
(d) Assertion is incorrect but Reason is correct.
SECTION B
14 Given Sin A =1/2, find the other trigonometric ratios of the angle A. 2
OR
In PQR, right-angled at Q, PR + QR = 25 cm and PQ = 5 cm. Determine the values of
sin P, cos P and tan P.
SECTION C
15 Find the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial x2 –3 x +2 and verify the relationship between 3
the zeroes and the coefficients.
OR
Find the values of y for which the distance between the points P (2, – 3) and Q (10, y) is 10
units.
SECTION D
OR
The ratio of incomes of two persons is 9: 7 and the ratio of their expenditures is 4: 3. If each of
them manages to save Rs 2000 per month, find their monthly incomes.
19 Find the area of a rhombus if its vertices are (3, 0), (4, 5), (– 1, 4) and (– 2, – 1) taken in order. 5
SECTION E
The satellite image of the Himalayas Mountain is shown below. In this image there are many
signal towers that are standing.
20
The angle of elevation of the top of a hill from the foot of a tower is 60° and the angle of
elevation of the top of the tower with a height of 50 m from the foot of the hill is 30° as shown
in the image given above. Using the concept trigonometry answer the questions given below.
(i) Calculate the horizontal distance between the hill and the tower. 1
(ii) Find the distance from the foot of the tower to the top of the hill. 1
OR 2
If ∠ CBA= 45°, what will be the distance between the foot of the hill and the foot of the
tower?
