Resume Guidelines
Go with the reverse-chronological resume order and list your most recent job first.
Pick achievements over simply reporting on duties and responsibilities.
Demonstrate your achievements in bullets. Start each bullet with an action word like developed, optimized,
created, enhanced, improved.
Quantify each entry whenever possible with numbers, percentages, and amounts.
Bold information you want your recruiter or interviewer to read for a focus shift.
Education
Use this section to mention important educational milestones and degree courses you have or are currently
pursuing.
Be sure to include the following information: Name of institution, Degree type, Year of intended graduation.
You can highlight key modules of a particular course that aligns with the type of work you are seeking.
For students, your education section can do the heavy lifting until you've gained enough professional experience.
Even if you didn't finish a degree, the courses you did finish are yours to put on your resume.
Certifications:
Along with certification title, mention the body obtained from and start and end date.
Certifications need to be mentioned in chronological order.
Key Skills
Key skills are talents and expertise you develop to perform a task or job. Examine the job and look for both obvious
and hidden resume keywords.
The key skills should be in alignment with the type of work you have done and highlight your learning from it.
Revisit your experience section to make sure your best skills are demonstrated there as well.
Contact info.
It is advised to provide your current location in your resume because your location can be a criterion for
the majority of recruiters.
If you don't provide a link to your LinkedIn profile, 40% of the companies may not even consider
interviewing you. That's why it's important to include it in your resume.
Please provide a link to any other platform that you are using to showcase your work.
Summary: This section should be filled with your experience till date (work or internship or projects) and learnings
obtained from the same. Stating the use of emotional intelligence / soft skills during the work would make you an
all-rounder candidate.
Projects: Mention Project name, institute or company project is made for along with one liner introduction of the
project and in next line please mention key techs/skills used during the project
Please note: Proofreading the document for correct information, spellings, dates, and locations is of utmost
importance in order to eliminate the situation of missing opportunities.
