2. Discuss the importance of air, water, food, exercise design, proper execution, progression and rest as
factors in developing your fitness and health.
Air is a very important factor in developing fitness and health. When we exercise, our body uses more
oxygen and produces more carbon dioxide. Hence, we need to supply oxygen in our body. We breathe
using our diaphragm and not the chest wall.
Water is equally important to air as well. Water keeps us from being dehydrated while we do our
exercises. We need to be in good hydration before, during and after exercise. That’s why we need to
drink at least 8 glasses of water a day which contains 330 ml per glass.
Exercise design is also very essential in fitness and health. Make sure to plan our workout properly. We
tailor and base our exercises to the capabilities of our bodies. We design our workout plans based
specifically the needs or weaknesses of the body.
Proper execution is also important in fitness and health. We make sure that our positioning is correct.
Improper execution might injure our knees or back and might lose the elasticity of our ligaments and
muscles.
Similarly, progression is a very essential factor in developing fitness and health as well. If people do the
same workouts over and over again, it results a sense of familiarity which can reduce the progress that’s
why we need progression. After 6 weeks, we either change the workout or add exercises. We must keep
in mind that we only increase our plans in just 5%.
Lastly, rest is equally important to all the factors stated. We need rest in everything we do. Rest allows
the body to recover from exhaustion and restores our strength.
