LP 4 Subsets of Lines
LP 4 Subsets of Lines
I. Objectives
At the end of 60-minute class discussion and class activities, the learners
of Grade 7 of Baliguian National High School are expected to learn the following,
with at least 75% level of accuracy and proficiency:
III. Procedure
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
A. Daily Routine/Preliminary Activities
• Prayer
Let us all stand up for a prayer. (In the Name of the Amen.
father……. Amen.
• Setting Arrangement
Kindly arrange your chairs before you take your seat -Yes ma’am
and pick up the pieces of paper under your chair.
• Greetings
Good morning class! -Good Morning ma'am.
How was your day? -We are fine ma'am.
Well, that’s good to hear.
•Checking of Attendance
Is there any absent from the class?
• Setting Of Standard
First, I would like to remind you our classroom
rules when we are having our class discussion.
B. Motivation/Activity
Now, before we formally begin with our new
topic let’s have a short game. I will divide the class
into three (3) groups. (The students will count off from
Counts off! 1-3.)
A B
D E
Questions
1. What geometric figure is formed when at least
two points are connected?
2. What is the difference between figure AB and
figure CD?
3. What is the difference between figure AB and
figure EF?
4. How about figure CD and the figure EF?
D. Abstraction
-Our topic for today is all about “Subsets of lines”.
Subsets of Lines

AB as a subset of line AB ´ consisting of the points A
and B and all the points between them. If the line to
which a line segment belongs is given a scale so that it
turns into the real line, then the length of the segment
can be determined by getting the distance between its
endpoints.

The ray. A ray is also a part of a line but has only
one endpoint, and extends endlessly in one
direction. We name a ray by its endpoint and one
of its points. We always start on the endpoint. The
figure is ray AB or we can also name it as ray AC.
It is not correct to name it as ray BA or ray
CA. In notation, we write AB or ⃗
⃗ AC .

E. APPLICATION (Group Activity)
At this time, I will divide the class into two
groups.

3. What are the points on ray DE?
4. What are the points not on ray DE?
5. How else can you name ray DE?
F. GENERALIZATION
Before we proceed to our activity, let’s recall what
we discussed.
IV. Evaluation
Read and analyze the questions carefully and write only the letter of

the correct answer. ( sheet of paper)

2. What part of a line that has only one endpoint, and extends endlessly in one
direction.?
A. Lines
B. Segment
C. Ray
D. Point

5. Do you agree that a segment has two endpoints while a ray has only one endpoint and is
extended endlessly in one direction?
A. Yes
B. No
C. Maybe
D. None of the above
Expected Answers:
1. B
