PROBLEMS-SOLUTIONS/ CAUSES-SOLUTIONS ESSAY – MS.

SAMPLE 1:

A generation ago, teaching in a high school was considered an extremely well-respected

and popular job, and in some countries this is still true. However, in many parts of the
world, there has been a sharp drop in the number of young people who want to become
high-school teachers. This essay will look at the reasons for this and propose some
solutions.

One of the main causes of the problem is that teachers’ salaries are lower than many
other jobs. Teachers’ pay as not kept pace with that of other professions, such as law or
medicine. In the UK, for example, a doctor with five years’ experience will earn far more
than a teacher with the same experience. The solution is for the government to raise
teachers’ pay significantly, which would attract more people into the profession.

Another reason is that many children do not behave well in class. That is to say, teachers
often have to deal with pupils who disobey them, which often causes them to give up
teaching. This tends to put off potential teachers as well. To tackle this issue, parents
must give their children a sense of respect for teachers, in order to make children behave
better in class.

A third cause of the problem is that teachers often have too much work to do. Most
teachers are snowed under with marking and paperwork, which means that they have to
stay late at school and work at home in the evening. As a result, many teachers are tired
and stresses and their job has a negative effect on their family life. The way forward could
be to cut teachers’ hours, and to take on more teaching assistants, which would make
teaching an easier job.

To sum up, teaching has become a much less popular job in many countries, due to reasons
such as the salary, the working hours and pupils’ behavior. This is a serious problem, and
unless we can get more talented young people to become teachers, the education of our
children will suffer. I strongly believe that the main responsibility for solving the problem
lies with parents and the government.

The enormous growth in the use of the internet over the last decade has led to radical
changes to the way that people consume and share information. In this essay, I will
examine the problems associate with internet and propose how this situation could
be improved.

One of the first problems of the internet is the ease with which children can access
potentially dangerous sites. For example, pornography sites are easily accessible to them
because they can register with a site and claim to be an adult. There is no doubt that this
affects their thoughts and development, which is a negative impact for the children and for
society. Another major problem is the growth of online fraud and hacking. These days,
there are constant news stories about government and company websites that have been
hacked, resulting in sensitive information falling into the hands of criminals.

It is important that action is taken to tackle these problems. Governments should

ensure that adequate legislation and controls are in place that will prevent young people
from accessing dangerous sites, such as requiring more than simply confirming that you
are an adult to view a site. Parents also have a part to play. They need to closely monitor
the activities of their children and restrict their access to certain sites, which can now be
done through various computer programs. Companies must also improve their onsite IT
security systems to make fraud and hacking much more difficult by undertaking thorough
reviews of their current systems for weaknesses.

To conclude, the internet is an amazing technological innovation that has transformed

people’s lives, but not without negative impacts. However, with the right action by
individuals, governments and businesses, it can be made a safe place for everyone.
