VR INTERVIEW SIMULATOR

Executive summary

A cutting-edge application that assists job candidates in preparing for job interviews in a virtual
environment is a virtual interview simulator. The virtual interview simulator is made to look like
an actual interview situation, giving job seekers a chance to practice their responses and
enhance their interviewing abilities. The job market is competitive in today's fast-paced times.
An advantage over other applicants might be gained by having a polished and well-prepared
interview. Job seekers have a great opportunity to develop their interviewing skills and self-
confidence by using virtual interview simulators. Job seekers can safely practice answering
typical interview questions in the virtual setting, practice handling challenging interview settings,
and get feedback on their performance. This kind of preparation is essential because it enables
job seekers to gain a better grasp of what to anticipate during an actual interview and to modify
their interviewing approach as needed.

Here's a VR interview simulator—the best resource for job hunters! With the help of our
simulator, users may practice and enhance their interviewing skills in a stress-free and
completely immersive scenario. Our simulator provides personalized feedback that identifies
areas for improvement and highlights strengths. Candidates can boost their confidence and get
ready for any situation by having access to a personalized set of interview questions and
scenarios in a specified business domain.

Concept (200 words)

The main concept of the game is to provide experience and confidence to those who are
expected to sit for an interview in a business domain or age or occupation. Job seekers can
safely practice answering typical interview questions in the virtual setting, practice handling
challenging interview settings, and get feedback on their performance. This game aims to
virtualize a real-life interview situation by presenting users with a variety of common interview
questions and scenarios in different fields and domains. This application will also provide users
with feedback and guidance on their performance, such as suggesting ways to improve their
answers, evaluating areas of strength or weakness, or offering tips in general on the basis of
scores received after giving each answer. By using this VR, job seekers can increase their
chances of success in real-world job interviews.

Target audience

The audience to be targeted for this application will be mainly students or job seekers who wish
to practice mock interviews before giving a real interview. Apart from that, recruitment agencies,
online learning platforms as well as career development centers can also use this VR
experience to train their students or users for forthcoming interviews.

User Personas

Raj- Raj is a graduating student seeking for jobs in a business domain. He has 2-3 interviews
scheduled with different companies and hence is really worried about it. He came across our
VR interview simulator while looking for questions asked in a business interview. He practiced
his interview using our simulator and worked on the feedback provided by the simulator. After
this he gained good confidence and knowledge about the interview process in the real world.

Hiring.com- An employee hiring 3rd party company uses this simulator application for other
users to practice their interview skills while applying to any company through their portal and
reflect their scores on their website. This might help the hiring companies to get some idea
about the applicants they are shortlisting.

Career development center- Career development center at Ahmedabad university that helps
university students with placements and internships asks students giving interviews for the first
time to practice their interviews through our simulator before giving interviews with real
companies to help them improve and gain confidence.

Experience elements

Setting

The style of the application will be professional, interactive and informational. The
setting of the application will include a waiting room where the user can access the my
settings option and a main interview room where the interview practice will take place.

Story Summary
The first scene of the simulator application will be a waiting room with a receptionist on a desk
who will greet the user. The user will not be able to access or interact with any of these
elements.

Set up your profile- firstly, the user will have to provide basic information about himself like the
level of experience and type of job as well as level of position. The user can now use this button
to customize the interview settings like level of difficulty, type of interview(one-on-on or with 3-
4 interviewees), genders of the interviewers, their age and customize avatars as well. The user
can also choose the number of questions being asked (maximum number of questions being 20).
He can also choose the option of interaction from audio or pop-up messages.

The main door right in front of the user will be used as a medium to start the interview and
enter the main interview room. After making the necessary customizations in the waiting room,
the user will enter the interview room where the user will be first greeted by the interviewer
through a pop up box/audio. Another pop up box will now appear in front of the user where he
will have the option to choose whether to greet back or just take a seat. The user will be
evaluated on the basis of the choices he will make throughout.
In the next scene , again through pop-up/audio the interviewee will ask the user some questions
of the interview and the user will be provided with a textbox to answer those questions and
multiple options in some cases.
At the end of the interview the user will be provided with a set of general feedback evaluation
based on the scores received by the user after selection of the correct option of the answer.

At the end of the interview, the user will be provided with general review like areas of
improvement, total score based on the answers provided, feedback on certain gestures like
greeting the interviewees etc. The feedback will be based on the details included in the answers
selected by the user and the score associated with that answer and the strength and validity of
the answer.

They can also view this feedback at the scoreboard . This scoreboard will be maintained
through all the interviews they will practice using the application and will show whether they
have made progress or not. It will also provide detailed feedback on areas requiring
improvement.

Theme and Art Style


● User Interface Style: As seen in the second mood board , the user interface will be mostly
basic and casual.
● Environments: The main setting of the environment will be a room with basic furniture
like chairs and a table. The room will not be too bright or too gloomy as well. It will be
airy and very light themed with simple brown, black and white colors.
● Characters: The characters(interviewers) will be all realistic and even customizable in
terms of age, gender among other features.
● Rendering Style: the rendering style will be isometric as there won’t be much movement
after the interview starts. The movement the user will have to do is enter and exit the
room.
