Peer Pressure

Peer pressure is considered quite common nowadays, it’s normal for most teenagers to experience it
but it can also get out of control and have a negative impact on teens. Many people wonder how they
might reduce its influence.
To start with, it’s important that you choose your friends wisely, because if they share your beliefs, it will
help you reduce the amount of peer pressure you might be facing.
Secondly, you should try to talk to someone you trust, it could be a friend, a teacher or a parent. It’s
important that you try this, because they might be able to give you helpful advice, as they have probably
experienced peer pressure before.
Lastly, it’s a good idea to start trusting your own feelings and know your personal limits, this way you
will feel more confident in yourself and your actions as well.
In conclusion, taking into account all the afore said reasons you will find it easier to deal with peer
pressure and find confidence in your own actions.

There is a lot of controversy about the question whether it is a good idea to go on an extreme diet.
Personally, I disagree with that. I’d like to address some evidence to substantiate my point of view.

On the one hand, it is no surprise that nowadays obesity is one of the main issues in human health, and
in order to fight obesity, most people go on extreme diets. It is widely believed that going on such
extreme diets is the key to solving the issue. Firstly, many think that this form of dieting is the most
effective way to reach their goals, which includes better health, desirable body shape and generally
the way one looks. The main advantage is still losing weight , while it’s true that these forms of diets,
if supervised by doctors, can be a great way to balance healthy life, and have less complications or
decrease the chances of developing health problems, like diabetes. One of the main advantages that
motivate people to pursue extreme dieting is that it helps people get their desirable body shape and
size.

On the other hand, what many people don’t take into account is the number of disadvantages of such
diets. Firstly, extreme diets make healthy and helpful diets unbalanced, and cause safety issues.
Secondly, they are not sustainable in the long run, meaning, if a person is trying to lose weight
following an extreme diet, the weight they lose will be regained short after they go off their extreme
diets. Another disadvantage of extreme dieting is that instead of leading to a healthier life, it actually
destroys people’s health as it weakens their immune systems, in most cases can even lead to anorexia
and can also cause mental problems.

Taking into account all the afore-said reasons, we can safely conclude that extreme dieting is in no
way a good idea to reach a healthier , better and happier life.
