I. Scope of Works

This document covers only the procedure and safety programs needed on how
to properly chip walls and slabs.

II. Construction Procedures

a. Workers will wear proper PPE before starting.


b. Clean the area before commencing work.
c. Ensure proper lighting at work area.
d. Ensure proper ventilation and air flow at work area.
e. Mark out the position to be cored
f. Ensure that there is no services in-front and behind the location to be cored.
g. Move away or protect thing that is directly underneath the area to be cored.
h. Drill and Install wall/slab anchor.
i. Mount the coring machine stand.
j. Fix the core bit to the machine.
k. Adjust and Center the corebit to the marked position
l. Setup water protection system at front and behind of wall/slab if require.
m. Start the coring machine.
n. Turn on the water system and start coring.
o. Once cored through, stop the motor and water.
p. Remove drill motor and diamond bit.
q. Remove cored concrete core.
r. Clean up area and move to the next location.

VI. Personnel Roles and Responsibilities

Safety officer’s responsibility is to ensure that the work activity is in


compliance with the safety standards given at site.

Site supervisor’s responsibilities are to supervise the proper work activities of


the workers and compliance with the safety standards at site.

Worker’s responsibility is to commence work safely and properly. In relation


to this methodology proper chipping must be observed to achieve quality work.
