1. PRELIMINARY NOTE:
LOYAL BIUILDING CONTRACTING LLC reserves the right to adapt the
methods used according to site needs and configuration. In the case of major
changes to the methods intended to be used, this method statement will be
resubmitted for approval. The Work shall be commenced upon approval of the
MS and RS by Client.
2. PURPOSE OF WORK:
This document defines the procedures to be used during the initial stage starting
from excavation, water tank installation and fixing it to the main line of the
warehouse and office. The scope of work covers the excavation to installation
of water tank and fix the water line to the existing main line of the warehouse
and office.
3. Responsibilities:

Manager Leads and execute timely completion of work and oversee
the safety of the site.
4. Safety Requirements:
Worker involved must be inducted by Safety officer.
Worker involved must wear complete and proper PPE requirements at all
times.
Worker involved must be MS/RA briefed and recorded.
All workers must be briefed with emergency procedure, Evacuation drill
procedure and general site rules that are followed at Mapei Site.
Material Handling.
Induction and training shall be based on this safety program and shall
include but shall not be limited to:

7. SCOPE OF WORK:
The scope work involved in water tank installation and its pipe line fixing it to
the existing main lines.
As an initial step, provide safe access for the site operatives to reach to the work
area.
Obtaining the work permit from the Mapei Client representative and
ensure the work area is safe.
Tool box talk training must be given to the workers about the scope of
work and the risk that are associated with the work must be
communicated.
Job specific instruction must be given by the onsite supervisor.
Providing proper access to the excavation team.
Excavation shall be done manually to prevent any damage to the
unidentified underground services.
All site rubbish that arises during the excavation and tank installation
shall be stored in the black cover and at the end of each shift, the waste
debris shall be disposed in the designated area.

8 Methodology:
8.1 Preparation Work:
PPE must be worn at all times.
Aluminium Scaffold shall be provided for all the height work activities.
Ensure that the existing underground services drawing shall be
identified before the commencement of the excavation work.
All equipment shall be inspected, and all personnel shall be inducted
and trained before the commencement of work on site.
Loyal Engineer shall ensure that prior to commencing work the position
of services obstructing the work area are established, marked, agreed, and
recorded. The position of underground services shall be provided by
carefully hand digging.
No load or materials storage is allowed near to excavation to prevent cave
in.
For excavations deeper than 1.2 meters, a ladder will be provided, and
kept close to the workplace in the excavation.
Appropriate PPEs will be provided. And ensure it is used by site
operatives at all times.
No unauthorized access to be permitted to the excavated area.
Adequate warning signs i.e. “Deep excavation “, Excavated area- Keep
back” etc will be provided.
Identify the presence of underground services and provide warning sign.
If the depth of vertical cut exceeds 1.5m Shoring will be provided to
avoid cave in.
No material will be stacked near to the edge of any excavation area.
Proper lighting to will provided.
Where a vehicle is being used to tip material in to an excavation, it will
be kept at a safe distance away from the edge to prevent possible
collapse.
After completing sub structure works, all remain excavated area will be
backfilled properly.

All the area will be levelled properly as per the site condition.
8.3 Extension of existing over-head water tank column
This method of statements details the procedure for the extension of the
RCC Column as proposed by client and then Form and reinforcement
works shall take place.
When dismantling the forms works after being used all nails will
be removed.
All construction wastes will be cleared and all the materials must
be stacked orderly.
All formwork of concrete work shall be made with 18mm marine ply
wood and as per the given sizes in the drawing.
Steel reinforcement will be cut and bent as per the required diameter and
shape and it will be fixed with interconnect.
Proper cover space. Shop drawings and bar bending schedule shall be
prepared and to be approved by the consultant.
All the concrete shall be vibrated properly and finished nicely and it will
be cured by application of concrete curing compound.
Lifting plan shall be prepared and it must be available during the time of
lifting activity.

All the lifting activity shall be done under the supervision of the foreman
Barricade must be provided on the lifting activity area and signage’s must
be placed to prevent unauthorized entry.
All the lifting appliance must be certified by DDA approved certificate.
DDA approved rigger must be available during the lifting activity.
8.6 Connecting the water tank to the existing services:
Experienced personnel will carry out all the installation work. UPVC pipe
will be installed in accordance with the client and manufacturers
instruction.
All the access to the work at height will be carried with the help of the
aluminium scaffold.
Aluminium scaffold must be erected by competent trained employee and
then inspected by the competent person prior to use.
Material must not be carried up by using the access ladder.
Ensure that the work area is suitably cordoned off to prevent
persons not involved in the activity from staying in to work area.
Mark out the position of any support channel and bracket.
Once the support is fixed hangers shall be installed.
Connecting UPVC shall be installed with proper slope gradient
as proposed.
The Team will undertake safety induction /Pre job safety briefings.
