Electronic Circuits for CpE Lab
Essay type.
1.Give at least two electronic device that you are using and attach a picture of it.
2.Research the electronic components of the devices you have listed.

1. As a student in this time of pandemic, electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops,
computers, tablets and such are all becoming significant in our study. The two electronic
devices which are very useful for me and give a significant impact on my study is my
mobile/android phone as well as my scientific calculator.

2. Electronic components are the parts and elements that are set-up together and each of
them has its own function into the circuit of a certain device to make it work and run. As
for the electronic component of the mobile phone that I am using right now, it became
difficult for me to find the exact electronic components that have been used for my
cellphone. That’s why I will just be giving the common electronic components that are
used for mobile phones generally.
According to Das (June 2021), mobile phones have PCB’s and contains different
electronic components which are mostly SMD or Surface Mount Device or Surface
Mount Electronic Components. Surface Mount Device (SMD) meanwhile are chip-type
electronic components for Surface Mount Technology. SMD doesn’t have leads like thru-
hole since they are mounted onto the PCB. Going back to the main topic, there are three
(3) types of capacitors of that is used in mobile phones such as Non-Electrolytic
Capacitor, Electrolytic Capacitor and Network Capacitor. In addition, Diodes (Rectifier
Diode, LED, Zener Diode and Photo Diode), Resistor (Chip Resistance/Resistor and
Network Resistance/Resistor), Coupler which is found in the network section of mobile
phones and filters the network, Boost Coil, Coil, Regulator and Transistor which are
found in any section of the mobile phones are all present.
On the other hand, scientific calculator also has its electronic components for it to
be used and to make it work. These electronic components include small connecting
wires allowing the electric current to flow to all parts of the system. The system itself is
made up of diodes, transistors, passive components such as resistors, capacitors, and
inductors. In addition, conventional circuits and integrated circuits that are designed for
different functions were also installed in a calculator. One of these specialized circuits is
an oscillator that serves as a clock and is used to control the movement of bits of
information through the system. Another type of specialized circuit is a logic circuit, or
processor, which stores data and performs manipulations on data such as addition.
Printed circuit board (PCB) meanwhile forms the backbone of a calculator’s electronic
circuit system, allowing various storage unit stores data and instructions that are being
used by the control unit.
