1 ENGLISH 1.Do you think there is colour prejudice in our country? Write a
paragraph about this in 100-120 words. Refer the chapter 'Nelson
Mandela'.Write in A4 size paper ( Mention your name, class and
section).

2. Lencho , the protagonist in the story ' A Letter to God’ is a farmer.


He supports his family through farming. The conflict in the story
happens when a hailstorm strikes the field and destroys his farm. All
the hardwork, for nothing! The entire land is wrecked by catastrophe.
There is no one who can help. Lencho’s complete faith in God is
amazing during the calamity.

So, one type of conflict dominating in the story is man versus nature.
Gather information on the natural calamities that play havoc in the
lives of people. Collect photographs and make a visual presentation
to share it in the class.

7. Two numbers are in the ratio 15: 11. If their HCF is 13 and LCM is
2145, then find the numbers.

9. State whether 10.064 is rational or not. If rational, express in p/q


form.

10. State the fundamental theorem of arithmetic.

11. Find the polynomial, whose zeroes are 2 + √3 and 2 - √3 (x2 – 4x


+1)12. Form a quadratic polynomial, one of whose zero is 2 + √5 and
the sum of zeroes is 4 (x2 – 4x – 1)

13. Find a quadratic polynomial whose sum and product of the zeroes
are 21/8 and 5/16 (16x2 - 42x +5).

15. Find the zeroes of the polynomial and verify the relationship

16. If one root of the polynomial 5x3 + 13x + k is reciprocal of the


other, then find the value of k?

4 SCIENCE CHEMISTRY -

1) Write and learn the names of elements, their symbols and


atomic mass from atomic number 1 to 30.

2) Write 5 examples of each types of reaction and represent


with balanced chemical equation.

3) Write 5 situations from daily life where you have seen the
effect of oxidation reaction.

4) Classify the reactions and write the balanced chemical


equation.

a) Hydrogen gas combines with nitrogen gas to form ammonia.

b) Calcium reacts with water to give calcium hydroxide and


hydrogen gas.
c) Milk of magnesia reacts with Hydrochloric acid to give salt
and water.

d) Heating calcium carbonate to give calcium oxide and carbon


dioxide gas.

e) Manganese dioxide reacts with hydrochloric acid to give


manganese chloride,water and chlorine gas.

5) Write the answers of exercise questions of Chapter-1.

PHYSICS -

1) A concave mirror has a focal length of 20 cm. At what


distance from the mirror should a 4 cm tall object be placed so
that it forms an image at a distance of 30 cm from the mirror?
Also calculate the size of the image formed.

2) The image of a candle flame placed at a distance of 30 cm


from a mirror is formed on a screen placed in front of the mirror
at a distance of 60 cm from its pole. What is the nature of the
mirror? Find its focal length. If the height of the flame is 2.4 cm,
find the height of its image. State whether the image formed is
erect or inverted.

3) An object 4 cm in height, is placed at 15 cm in front of a


concave mirror of focal length 10 cm. At what distance from the
mirror should a screen be placed to obtain a sharp image of the
object. Calculate the height of the image.

4) The image of an object formed by a mirror is real, inverted


and is of magnification -1. If the image is at a distance of 40 cm
from the mirror, where is the object placed? Where would the
image be if the object is moved 20 cm towards the mirror? State
reason and also draw ray diagram for the new position of the
object to justify your answer.

5) A student wants to obtain an erect image of an object using a


concave mirror of 12 cm focal length. What should be the range
of distance of the candle flame from the mirror? State the
nature and size of the image he is likely to observe. Draw a ray
diagram to show the image formation in this case.
