BOY SCOUT OF THE PHILIPPINES (BSP)

SCHOOL CAMP 2022
December 10-11, 2023

NARRATIVE REPORT

Practicing and mastering Scouting skills creates a special community with a distinct code
of conduct that re-orders the priorities of the everyday world. Practicing Scout skills requires an
unusual combination of self-reliance and cooperation, a level of awareness of oneself, of others,
and of the natural world no other endeavor replicates.
DAY 1 – December 10, 2022
Saturday Morning

The opening program started at

8:30 in the morning with the entrance of
colors led by selected Scouts, the singing
of the Philippine National Anthem,
followed by a short prayer of dedication
and deliverance from harm throughout the
camping, the recitation of the Scout Oath
and Law, the Scouts’ Vision and Mission
by the designated boy scouts and Kab scouts.
To officially commence the
program, Mr. Marion Francis B.
Contreras, the ever-supportive teacher-in-charge of our school, gave
his welcome address to all the scouts, parents, teachers, guests, and
spectators witnessing this momentous event for our campers after a
couple of years with no camping because of pandemic.
After the program officially started,
the scouts were dispersed, and they began
with their respective activities. However, the boy scouts were given
enough time to rest and enjoy the Kab Palabas of the Kab scouts. They
had different games and dance presentation. The whole place was
booming with cheers, and laughter. Seeing the scouts with their parents
enjoy even just for a day was a spectacle to behold.
DAY 1 – December 10, 2022
Saturday Afternoon

After lunch, the boy scouts were gathered and assembled

for a walk through of their activities for the afternoon and prepare
for their things in their respective quarters.
For some children, this may
be their first time away from home.
School camps provide them an
opportunity to take care of themselves by appreciating the
importance of interaction and connections to the physical world.
Most children rose to this challenge; they enjoyed this newfound
independence and recognized the need to look after themselves,
each other, and their environment. During camp, children will be
exposed to a variety of experiences.
These experiences
are active and facilitate
learning in a variety of
forms, providing a
greater awareness of
skills and capabilities
that may be new for
many. The scouts were
immersed to different
activities. They were
introduced with the
History of Scouting and Scout Ideals. They were also presented with Flag Code and Flag Folding,
Basic Knot Tying, Basic Life Support/First Aid, and Emergency Preparedness. They are also
introduced with varied activities that will immerse them with nature like Scouts Go Solar where
they were taught the use of sunlight when making fire and also with making art using some
popsicle sticks and magnifying glass and Nature Study where they were asked to identify which
places were more polluted, the school or the roadside? With the aide of packing tape, bond
paper, and leaves from both designated locations.

DAY 1 – December 10, 2022

Saturday Evening

After dinner, at 6:00 o’clock in the evening,

the investiture ceremony commenced, with the
parents’ consent, the Kid and Kab Scouts joined
the Boy scouts in this solemn ceremony as they
start and continue their scout life led by Scout
Master Mrs. Cherry V. Cuñada. The Kid, Kab, and
Boy Scouts had their foot parade around the school
grounds. When they returned, we started the
campfire. We had different activities, dance
numbers and skits to make the activity solemn but
fun.

DAY 2 – December 11, 2022

Sunday Morning

A morning exercise opened

the day. They exercised until they
reduced sweat. This was led by their
patrol leaders, after which, they ate
their breakfast. For the final activity
of the school camp, the scouts had
their community service which was a
clean-up drive around the school
which lasted for about 45 minutes.
After the community service, we bid
our goodbye for a wonderful activity.
