Classmates let us all pray.

b. Greetings

Good morning students, have a nice day.

Good morning, sir.
c. Checking of Attendance
By the way, who is absent today class? None, sir.
Good to hear that.

B. Recall
In our previous lesson we discussed about
three-way switch, right?
Yes, sir!
What is three-way switch again class?
Sir!
Yes, _______?
It can control the circuit in two different locations.
Absolutely!
How many wires are there in a three-way
switch?
Sir!
Yes, ______? There are three (3) wires sir.
Very good!
As we go over our lesson, we will see later
what group got the correct wiring diagram.

A. Motivation
I think you are now ready to learn new lesson.

Who wants to learn new wiring connection?

(Learners will raise their hands)
Sir!
That’s good to know that you want to learn
another wiring connection.

We will have a short activity and I will group

you into four (4). I have here cardboards,
different kinds of symbols, labels, and strings.
Each group will be given the same set of
materials.
Using the materials that is given to you
make a wiring diagram of a bulb controlled
by three (3) switches. Paste the symbols and
labels in their exact locations on the
cardboard and use the string as the conductor.
The wiring connection should be correct.
I’ll give you eight (8) minutes to do
that. Five (5) minutes for the wiring the
diagram and three (3) minutes for making
your group yell.
If your group is done, shout your yell,
then paste your work on the blackboard. To
those group that presented correct wiring
diagram will be given additional points in
their performance. Yes, sir!

Did you understand class? Yes, sir!

Are you ready? (Learners will do the activity)

You may start now!

(Teacher will facilitate)

B. Presentation of Topic
Based on the activity, what did you
observed? Sir!

It is all about the wiring connection of bulbs that is

Yes, _______?
controlled in three different locations.
Absolutely!
What kinds of switches did we used?
Sir!
Yes, _______? We used three-way and four-way switch sir!

Very good!

C. Lesson Proper
For us to have a better understanding about
our topic today, let us discuss first what is
four-way switch (S4w)?

Who wants to read about four-way switch?

Sir!
Yes, _______?

Four-way switches (S4w) are used to control lighting

from three or more locations.
Thank you, _______.
A four-way switch is similar to a three-way
switch (S3w), except it has four terminals and
controls one fixture from three or more
locations.

Where do we usually find or use this four-

way switch? Sir!
Yes, ________?

Four-way switch (S4w) is installed in stairways,

hallways and in a big space room.

Very good, _______! If we need to control

the light from more than two locations, then
we simply install a four-way switch in
between the two (2) three-way switches.

Who among you have an idea about DPDT? Sir!

Yes, ________? DPDT is stands for Double-pole, double throw.

Very good!
4-way switch (S4w) is also called a Double-
pole, double throw (DPDT), 4-way switches
have four terminals on them: two for
traveller wires coming in, and two for
traveller wires going out. The device will
usually indicate which two terminals are for
“incoming” and “outgoing” wires.

Here is the symbol of four-way switch.

Class, please take note of that.

(Learners will identify the image)

Before we proceed on the actual connections,

I will show you a video clip on how does 3-
way (S3w) and 4-way switch (S4w) works.

Please take down notes while watching a

video clip. I will play the video twice.

https://www.youtube.com/watch? (Learners will observe)
