CTGP-7 Intallation Guide EN

CTGP-7 is a mod for Mario Kart 7 that requires custom firmware and system version 11.4 or greater to install. It provides two installation methods, either directly from the 3DS using FBI or from a PC by transferring files to the SD card. The PC method generally takes less time but requires a computer. Both methods involve downloading files either over the internet or from the computer, then installing and launching the CTGP-7 application from the home menu or homebrew launcher. To uninstall, users delete the CTGP-7 title and folder from the 3DS and optionally back up any save data.

CTGP-7 Installation Instructions

Installation methods:
To play CTGP-7, make sure you have installed Custom Firmware and your system
version is 11.4 or greater. The mod has an automatic updater, so you do not need to
reinstall everything on every update. Visit the CTGP-7 webpage for more information.
CTGP-7 is provided as two application types:
a) Cia (recommended): Installs to the home menu like any other app. You will be
able to launch the mod directly from the home menu.
b) 3dsx: Can be launched from the Rosalina homebrew launcher. It does not
require the installation of cia files, but it still requires custom firmware.

Method 1: Installing directly from a 3DS:

This method can be used to install the mod if you do not have access to a device to
copy the files to the SD card. However, you will need an internet connection in your
3DS. Due to the slow internet connection of the 3DS, this method can take some time
to complete.
1) Open FBI, then go to Remote Install and finally QR Code. Scan one of the
following QR codes:

CIA Downloader 3DSX Downloader

2) After the install is done, open the CTGP-7 Downloader app and follow the steps
there. This process can take some time.
3) Once the download finishes and the app closes, the mod will be installed.

Method 2: Using a PC to install:

This method requires a PC with a supported operating system or a working python
installation.
1) Download the appropriate PC installer for your operating system. If your
operating system is not listed, you can use the python files directly, but make
sure to install the dependencies listed in the README.
2) Insert your 3DS SD card into your computer. Make sure it’s accessible before
proceeding to the next step.

3) Run the installer, and a GUI will open. From this GUI you can choose the folder
where your 3DS SD card is located (normally, it is detected automatically).
4) Press the install button and wait for the installation to complete.
5) Reinsert the SD card into your 3DS, go to FBI, navigate to SD, then CTGP-7 and
finally cia. Select the cia file and press Install. Alternatively, open the
Homebrew Launcher and launch the CTGP-7 application.

Uninstalling:
To uninstall the mod, go to FBI, then Titles, from the list select CTGP-7 and choose
delete title. After that, you can delete the CTGP-7 folder on your SD card as well as the
3dsx inside the 3ds folder if it exists.
If you would like to make a backup of your save data, make sure to make a copy of the
savefs folder found inside the CTGP-7 folder before deleting it.
