truths emerge from this incident, all of which will help us
to see how God works in the lives of men and women in
order to bring them to Himself.

1. The salvation of a sinner is the sovereign work of


the Triune God.

We are told that Cornelius was seeking the Lord, but


we can be quite sure that first of all it was the Lord
Who was seeking Cornelius. It is rather significant that
in Acts 8, it is the Holy Spirit Who is prominent, refer
to Acts 8:29. In Acts 9, it is the Lord Jesus Who is
prominent, refer to Acts 9:4-6. But here in Acts 10, it
is God the Father Who is prominent and Who
appeared to Cornelius and spoke to him in a vision,
refer to Acts 10:3-6. The Father planned our salvation;
the Son procured our salvation; and the Holy Spirit
