Homeless to Harvard

Elizabeth is a girl who has always lived through difficult situations in

her life but she does not give up and overcomes all adversities. The
story begins relating the difficult childhood of Elizabeth who lived in
a world surrounded by many social problems such as drug addiction
and neglect of her parents, hunger and poverty. Elizabeth was a very
intelligent girl and always passed her exams but she had little interest
for her education and she did not attend classes.

In addition to being a drug addict, her mother also suffers from

schizophrenia and contracted AIDS as a result of prostitution to pay
for drugs. When Elizabeth's family learns of this dreadful
development, it splits apart, and Elizabeth stays with her father while
her mother and sister move in with her grandfather. Unfortunately,
because of his negligent nature and lack of concern for his daughter's
education, she is given to an orphanage. Elizabeth departs the
orphanage after a while and moves in with her mother, sister, and
grandfather. Her mother is currently an alcoholic, and her condition
has only become worse day by day. Elizabeth returns to school to
take care of her mother and meets Chris, who ends up being her best
friend. When she runs into issues with her grandfather, she makes
the decision to move out and live with a friend in the street, where
she is exposed to crime, leisure, and poverty.

Days later, her mother dies and Elizabeth is devastated by the news
so she reflects on the uncontrolled life she was carrying and decides
to return to school. She becomes the top student in the school and
wins scholarships to Harvard and the New York Times as a result of
her introspection, hard work, and dedication. This tale tells us to be
dreamers who must struggle through any challenges we face in order
to realize our goals. We are all human and struggle with our own
issues, but whether we overcome them or give up depends on each
individual. The direction of our lives is up to us.
