Chapter 3
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter presents the design applicable to the study. Specifically, it discussed the
research setting, the population and sample, the research instrument used in gathering data;
the data gathering procedure; and the possible treatment of data.
RESEARCH DESIGN
The study will employ a Quantitative research method. The study will utilize a
descriptive correlational design. The descriptive method will be used to determine the profile
variables such as age, gender and the correlation method will be used to assess the
relationship between the effect of having a classroom on the academic performance of the
respondents.
This method was used to present the effect of classroom on the academic
performance of Grade 12- HUMSS learners of Solano High School during the school year
2022-2023.
This study was conducted in Senior High School building, Solano High School on
December 2022-January 2023.
This place is where the respondents are said to answer the surveys that researchers
prepared. Grade 12- Plato is under the Humanities and Social Sciences Strand in Solano High
School.
RESEARCH RESPONDENTS
Random Sampling of Grade 12- Plato HUMSS learners of Solano High School was
utilized in the process of study. This means that the respondents are enrolled at Solano High
School during the school year 2022-2023.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
A researcher-made questionnaire is the main tool to be used in the study. Part I of the
instrument will be the profile of the respondents. Part II of the instrument will be a total of 5
item questions that are answerable by yes or no and another 10 items that can be answered by
checking the effects or factors that is applicable to recipients.
DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE
This study was conducted for the whole first semester of the school year 2022-2023.
The data for this research were collected through questionnaires and surveys answered by the
learners of Grade 12- HUMSS of Solano High School.
The total number of respondents will be gathered through the data given. The
researchers will use the random sampling technique.
N
In determining the sample size, Slovin’s Formula will be used. n= 2 ; where
1+ N (e)
n= sample size, N= total number of learners, and e= margin of error 5% (0.05)
Gender N n

The responses from the respondents who will answer the questionnaire will be
analyzed and interpreted. It will be recorded and noted down for further interpretation and
analyzed particularly getting the frequency and percentage.
