SHORT STORY

Peter, who is very polite to Elaine, is one of their best


friends. They both work at a hardware shop, with Peter assigned to
the electrical section while Elaine is in charge of the power
tools.

In such situation, the boy consistently assisted the girl with


inventory and stock deliveries. In exchange, Elaine always made him
a coffee as a reward. At the end of the month, when Elaine earned
rewards, she treated Peter to a meal at a restaurant.

Peter kissed Elaine while she was taking stock of her


merchandise in the storage room, and as the months passed they
didn’t even notice they had over the limit. Elaine was shocked and
inconsolable as she returned to the selling area and thought back
on her memories.

Since then, they haven’t spoken. The girl ignored Peter’s


attempts to apologize, and the boy could no longer endure their
lack of consideration. He resigned.
