PRAXEVILLA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Brief Description and General Objectives of the DepEd Program/Project:


The National Drug Education program (NDEP) provides a holistic approach that aims to create awareness on the ill effects of abusing drugs and to develop among student’s positive behaviour and life
skills to resist drugs. The said program is embodied by five essential components namely: the curriculum instruction, co-curricular and ancillary services, teacher and staff development, parent education and
community outreach, and research, evaluation and monitoring:
The specific objectives of the program are the following:
a. to intensify anti-drug abuse information campaigns;
b. to support the activities planned by the designated regional and division NDEP coordinators;
c. to involve PTCA’s and student organization in drug abuse prevention activities;
d. to allocate funds for the replication of existing modules and teaching aids and/or development of other supplementary instructional materials for drug education;
e. to mobilize all scout leaders to integrate drug abuse prevention in the training of scouts utilizing the Drug Abuse Prevention Integrated in Scouting Kit (DISK);
f. to collaborate closely with LGU’s other GO’s and NGO’s at the local level
