SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS, GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES

Cabayaoasan NHS students are required to abide by the school rules and
regulations. The school reserve the rights to suspend/dismiss a student who fails to live up
to these rules and regulations.
A. Attendance
Regular attendance is an essential factor for academic excellence. A student who
has been absent should have his excuse slip signed by the parent or guardian and
countersigned by the adviser. A student should support excuses for long absences due to
health reason by means of a medical certificate.
Excused absences do not mean exemption from submitting required academic
works and projects. On the other hand, unexcused absences will mean failure in tests or
quizzes missed. A student who has incurred more than 20% of the total required number of
school days for the school year will be dropped automatically.
B. Tardiness
A student who comes during or after a morning rite is considered late. Fifteen
minutes after the bell rings, a late student will not be admitted in the concerned subject.

C. Cutting Classes
A student is considered cutting classes if he is present in any subject but is absent in
other subjects. If a student will miss any subject due to valid reason, he must preset
personally the parents request for early dismissal to the concerned subject teachers before
going out of the school premises. In such case, the student will be credited one excused
absence in the class attendance. Each unauthorized cutting classes will merit two
unexcused absences.
D. Attire/Uniform
As a manifestation of esteem for the school and sign of self-discipline and obedience
to authority, students are required to wear properly.
E. Identification Card
ID must be always worn within the school premises. A lost or confiscated ID maybe
replaced by presenting to the official ID maker a permission to issue a new one from the
principal.
G. Personal Grooming
1. Haircut/Hairstyle
Boys are required to maintain a decent manly haircut
- Hair at the top must not reach the eyebrow
- Hair at the nape should not touch the collar
- Hair gels/mousses/suave can be used to minimum only.
- Hair dye other than the original color of hair is not allowed
- Caps or hats are not allowed to use inside the campus most especially inside the
room.
Girls should properly observe grooming in maintaining their hair
- Haircut should not be stylish; as much as possible simple and not punk.
- No excessive use of hair accessories and hair gels
- Hair dye other than the original color of hair is not allowed.
2. Earrings
Girls are allowed to wear no more than one earring on each ear. Earrings are not
allowed in any other parts of the body.
Boys are prohibited to wear earring on any part of their body.
3. Tattoos
Students are strictly prohibited from having any of their body parts tattooed.
H. Cellular Phones
Use of cellular phones is strictly prohibited during the class hours unless if there is
any untoward emergency happened at home or with the permission of the teacher to be
used in the class.
I. Deportment
1. Classroom
a. Keep the classroom clean. Avoid littering
b. Do not write on the walls, desks, et.al.
c. Observe silence. Avoid talking, clowning, loud conversation and boisterous
laughter.
 d. Sit properly on your assigned seat
e. Stand when teacher or visitors enters or leaves the room.
f. Avoid eating gums and candies
g. Rise promptly when called and answer properly.
h. Be obedient and courteous to all teaches.
I. Never make fun of those who commit mistakes
j. Treat classmates as brother and sister.
k. Avoid leaving the room while classes are going on.
2. School Campus
a. wear ID always
b. Keep silence and maintain cleanliness
c. Be honest in all dealings and transactions
d. Always fall in line (during flag ceremony and in the canteen)
e. use the trash cans properly
f. always keep the toilet clean and orderly. Note: Don’t seat like a FROG,
seat like a lady.
g. Be courteous to visitors, guards and esp to your teacher.
