Some additional facts: This extract is performed by an orchestra and written by a man called Johann
Strauss. He was Austrian, and composed the piece in 1866, which was in the Romantic era. The English
title of the piece is ‘The Blue Danube’, and it is a famous waltz. The strings play tremolo when the music
starts and their dynamic marking is pianissimo. The music is in the key of A major.
