Introduction
This document will outline the criteria and steps for a successful Oracle Cloud installation. This is intended to
be shared with the customer to outline the steps and responsibilities for the Customer Oracle Cloud
Administrator and the implementation timeline.

Oracle Cloud Connector Overview

Oracle Cloud Financials is a cloud-based, end-to-end business management solution designed for midsized to
enterprise-level customers. Unlike on-premise ERP products direct connection to the ERP database is not
permitted. Oracle has released Application Program Interfaces (APIs) to allow access to the financial data.
However, these APIs are not effective for the level of financial reporting required with Spreadsheet Server.
The Insightsoftware Oracle Cloud Connector leverages the Oracle APIs to replicate the financials data into a
usable database to allow efficient near Real-Time financial reporting. An Insightsoftware proprietary SAAS
reporting service is used to connect the data to Spreadsheet Server.

Installation Timeframe Expectations

The Oracle Cloud Connector requires many more steps on both the customer and Insightsoftware instances
than an on-premise connection. It is very important the customer understands the effort and process
involved to move forward with an Oracle Cloud installation. Below is a chart that identifies the resources and
worst case timeframe expected during the configuration process. Most setups will be accomplished within 5
days.

Cloud Connector Setup

Overview
The Cloud Connector setup will include a Customer Oracle Cloud Administrator.

Oracle Cloud ERP Administrator

This document includes detailed instructions for the customer Oracle Cloud Administrator. Most
administrators will be able to follow these instructions with no problem, but it is recommended to coordinate
a call with Insight Software Support to assist. This call can be coordinated through the Insight Software
Engagement Owner.

Oracle Cloud ERP Pre-Requisites

This guide will take you through the permissions required for the Oracle ERP Cloud integration user. It is
recommended you have a dedicated user for the replication process e.g. INT_INSIGHTSOFTWARE. This user is
used to replicate data and is not used by individual users running reports.

Terminology

Integration user- This is an Oracle ERP Cloud user which allows the Cloud Connector to replicate data from the
Oracle BIP and BICC interfaces. The user is used for read only purposes to run reports which are used to extract
a copy of the data.

Create a New User in Oracle ERP Cloud

Create a user that can be used by the Cloud Connector to replicate data e.g. INT_INSIGHTSOFTWARE

Summary Roles Required:

• ESSAdmin
• OBIA_EXTRACTTRANSFORMLOAD_RWD
• BIAdministrator

See the steps below to add these roles.

Create and Grant role to access the API’s

1. Login to Oracle Cloud ERP as a user who has system administrator privileges (ORACLE ADMIN)
2. Navigate via the menu to Tools > Security Console
3. Select the Roles tab, then click the Create Role button
4. Complete the basic information as follows
a. Role Name: Custom BI Administrator Role
b. Role Code: CUSTOM_BI_ADMIN_ROLE

User to Role.
14. Close the Add User dialog.
15. Click Next.
16. Click Save and Close.

Steps to Run “Retrieve Latest LDAP Changes” Job

1. Navigate to Tools > Scheduled Processes
2. Click on Schedule New Process
• Search for the process name: Retrieve Latest LDAP Changes. Click OK.

Oracle Cloud BICC New Environment Setup

This guide will take you through the permissions required for the Oracle ERP Cloud integration user. It is
recommended you have a dedicated user for the replication process e.g., INT_INSIGHTSOFTWARE. This user is
used to replicate data and is not used by individual users running reports.
Add BICC Storage Location
1. Log into Oracle BICC
a. use the url https://{host name}/biacm substituting the host name with your Oracle URL e.g.
b. https://adc2-zoqf-fa-ext.oracledemos.com/biacm

2. Click on the Configure External Storage option

3. Click on the OCI Object Storage Connection tab and click the plus sign.

4. Fill in all the fields with the information provided by the Insightsoftware Engagement Owner welcome email
5. Press the Generate API Signing Key and Export the public key file.

Note: The Test Connection cannot be completed until Insightsoftware has loaded the public key.
See the Test BICC Storage section

6. Then click Save

7. Send the public key file to the Insightsoftware Engagement Owner

8. The Insightsoftware Engagement Owner will advise you when the public key has been assigned to the cloud
connector instance

9. You can now test the connection

Import BICC Jobs
1. Navigate to the Jobs tab and click on the Manage Jobs link.

2. Check there are no jobs with the Job Id 200000 through to 200026, if there are contact support for an
alternate file.

3. Navigate to the Manage offerings and Data Source and Select the Import Customization option.
4. Click the Choose File button and select the file downloaded from here

5. You should now see the new jobs imported referencing insightsoftware
6. BICC is now configured
Test BICC Storage
1. Insightsoftware will add the Key provided above to the storage bucket and respond once complete

2. After confirmation has been received from Insightsoftware click the “Test Connection” button.
You will see the confirmation dialog.

Cloud Instance Replication

The initial replication of data will be controlled by the Insight Software Team. Once complete you, the
customer, will have full control of their replication schedules and data.

Cloud Instance Users

The Individual reporting users are required to be setup for authentication into the Insightsoftware Cloud
Instance and require Multi Factor Authentication (MFA). The Insightsoftware Engagement owner will request
the users once the POC Planning Call is complete. The POC users should be identified in the POC Planning Call.
The information required is the email and name of the users. Once the users are set up by Insightsoftware
Cloud Ops they will receive a welcome email with instructions to validate and receive their password. The
number of users should be limited to no more than 5 users and preferably 2 or 3.

Once the users are set up, they will need to validate their email with the cloud authentication system. They
will require a one-time authentication code for the initial log in. A welcome email with instructions will be
sent directly to the users. The Insightsoftware Support Team can assist users with this process as required.

Spreadsheet Server

GL Reporting Configuration
Once the cloud has been configured and the data replicated the files required for the Oracle Cloud Reporting
will be configured by the Insightsoftware Professional Services Team. These files will include the GL profile,
Journal and subledger drill downs.
Installation
A call will be scheduled for the Spreadsheet Server installation for the users. The installation and configuration
normally will take approximately an hour and a half. During the install call the Application Configurator will be
installed and configured for the users. The Application Configurator is where the user licenses are maintained.
The Cloud connection will also be created and tested. Only one user will require the Application Configurator.
The configuration files will be copied to a network file server to share the configuration for all users.

The Spreadsheet Server Add-In will be installed for each user. There will be very simple test to ensure they are
working properly.

Training
Once the users have been installed and the data validated by the Technical Consultant and the end users,
training will be scheduled by the Project Manager and the Training Consultant will conduct the courses.
