Sister Stitches Short Row Heel

Work a Sister stitches short row heel over 1/2 of total cast on stitches as follows: Work Short Rows: Knit to eor. Turn. Bring yarn to front of work.* Slip next st. Move yarn to back of work. Purl to eor. Turn. Bring yarn to front of work.* Slip next st. Knit to eor.
*Bring yarn to front of work and moving it to the back of work, creates a wrap or sister st. This sister st is considered a part of the sl st, to be worked tog as one st when working the 2 full rounds before and after the Long Rows. Tip: Work heel on smaller needles, this type of heel looks best when knitted firmly.

Repeat until until 20% of total co sts remain as center heel sts remain, ending on a RS. To mark your center sts for Long Rows, pm on either side of center sts now. Work 2 full rounds, to include instep sts, ending at new beg of rnd (start of heel), sl markers as you come to them. Dont forget to work the sister sts* as one st in the first of these rounds. Long Rows: Knit to last center st. (remove marker) Turn. Bring yarn to front of work.* Slip next st. Move yarn to back of work. Purl to last center st. (remove marker) Turn. Bring yarn to front of work.* Slip next st. Move yarn to back of work. Knit to the sister sts of the previous row, work the sister sts, knit one more st. Turn. Bring yarn to front of work.* Slip next st. Move yarn to back of work. Purl to the sister sts of the previous row, work the sister sts, purl one more st. Turn.
