Assignment: To determine the angular velocity and the moment of inertia of a
flywheel about its axis of rotation.

Theory: A flywheel where a mass Mat ached by means of a string to the axle of
the flywheel radius, the moment of inertia of which about it’s axis of rotation is
I the length of the string is such that it detached from the axle when the mas
strikes the floor in falling a distance h, the potential energy of the mass has been
converted into kinetic rotational and trans lotion energy

Calculation:

So, the average to Angular Velocity,

27.05+34.12+ 40.99+ 44.97

Mean w = 4

= 30.6 rad/s

then the average of moment of inertia

170912.1195+ 171953.6978+164911.8233+174557.6712
mean I = 4

= 170583.8279 gmcm2

Results: The angular Velocity of the flywheel about its axis rotation is
30.6 rad/s. The moment of intertia of the flywheel about its axis of
rotation is 170583.8279 gmcm2
Discussion: The experiment is used to determine the angular Velocity
and the moment of inertia of a flywheel about its axis of rotation by
taking measurements of axles radius and mean of time,
